When the pendulum oscillates, why doesn't it stop at the equilibrium position after 1 cycle? as no unbalanced force will be present at equilibrium position

Although no resultant force at equilibrium, the object still has lots of kinetic energy! So it moves away from equilibrium with a velocity.
