Elton John live in Earls Court, London on the 13th of May 1993. I fell in love with this gig and it's probably my favorite from this period. It's in a great quality, but not so great of a soundboard recording, however, it doens't matter at all! The concert contains a great setlist with cover songs of Queen (The Show Must Go On) and The Rolling Stones (Jumping Jack Flash). Furthermore it contains some rarely performed songs like Come Down In Time, played with the band which is very unusual, Captain Fantastic And The Brown Dirt Cowboy, and The Last Song. There's also some really great versions of the songs. The very funky intro to Philadelphia Freedom, fantastic version of Mona Lisas And Mad Hatters part 2, great intro to Bennie And The Jets, and a fantastic duet between Elton and the choir during Sad Songs (Say So Much) where we also get to hear some of the lowest tones Elton can sing.
Elton is in pretty good vocal shape at this gig and it is the last year where Elton would play the Roland RD-1000 before switching over to the Yamaga disklavier which he still uses.
-Enjoy!
P.S. The picture is actually from 1992 during rehearsals for the the tribute concert to Freddie Murcury!

No doubt he will be remembered like one of the most important musicians of the 20th century.

I saw him in Chicago summer of ‘92 for this tour and he was clearly in the midst of a renaissance musically and creatively. No longer just going through the motions like he had been doing for quite sometime. I believe musically speaking, he was never better than these performances around this time. And The One album peaked at number eight that same summer his highest charting album since Blue Moves.

When that RD1000 wasent giving him a hard time he really really enjoyed it!! Glad he still uses the rack unit MKS20 with his CFX

I can see why he enjoyed it. For it's time it did sound like a piano and was much easy to carry around. Elton has used the RD-1000/MKS-20 piano sound since 1987.

@@jaggass he mainly used it so is piano sound could actually be heard through the mix of his band and that's why he continues to use the rack unit till this day

Now that you mention it, me too. That is something, isn’t it! It is so funny how some of that all comes together.

@@dawsonvanderlugt1097 Although Elton usually writes a song in 15-30 mins he sort of wrote Believe much earlier.

One of the last times he used the Roland RD-1000 but has used the rack mount version of it since 1994.

Nobody here wants to skip to where the song begins lol Eltons live work is worth listening all the way through technically the song starts the moment the video starts

@@jordan6988 I do agree that listening to all of the opening solo is worth it, I love his incredible genius, but sometimes idk why but if I wanna get into the song song itself, it’s a personal timestamp, although it is a rarity that I skip through the solo
