I remember when I got Logic Pro 7, it took me a week to figure out how to make a freaking sound. The directions were like 2 dictionary sized books. Had only messed around with ACID lite at this point and hadn’t even ever had a good computer. But I bought a G5, a FireWire audio port, 2 Samson powered studio speakers , and Logic 7. I was in Heaven . The Samson speakers are still great, Logic Pro still great, G5 , pffff not so great. First track I made only took a couple days. All with Logic synths , and ultrabeat drums. I think I might remake that first track now that I think about it!

You shouldn't use a limiter when mixing, just volume faders. A/B comparing is just un-original and plain copying. Guys, just create something that has never done b4, dont look at what others are doing. Be original.

Another advice: FIRST learnt to WRITE a song! THEN learn to MIX! (NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND!). Set a goal to try to make 1 song per day for 14 days & see after 14 days how much you improved! - If you dont have ideas rip some famous youtube song videos & copycat them! Then change to make them your own!
