FWIW on the fatherhood side, I was also afraid of the “you’ll never have any time anymore,” aspect of becoming a parent. And while it’s true that time changes, I found it actually gave me a lot of clarity around what I value most and helped me hyper-focus on the things I truly care about. Hope this might be part of your journey too.

Well said. I have a 7mo old, and I produce podcasts and bumper music full time. There's less navel gazing time for sure, but just enough time to get the important work done. Clarity, focus, and efficiency are good things!

Hey Jon, as a father of one and another on the way, I’ve been producing music, DJing, and throwing events for over 15 years, I release music under 4 different names and I found it best to focus on one main project that you enjoy and feel motivated to pursue. The “Jon Sine” name will always be there for you to release under, and for me at was fun again to go back after a year or two and drop a track under one of my other aliases. Congrats on the baby, he/she will def take a lot of your time in the beginning but you’ll love every second of it.

Well, I'm 25 and don't even know what to do with my life right now. I'm just lost, and I think it's more or less like you're feeling right now. I follow your YT channel since 2018 (I guess) and I think you need some time to breathe. I really appreciate your Jon Sine music, and now the Against the A.I. stuff. I think you should leave Jon Sine project to whenever you feel to do something. I know you'll make the right decision for you. God bless you, Vanessa and your baby! Thanks by the help you gave me here!

I really wish you all the best there are many things I have enjoyed about your channel but what has resonated with me is just how humble and real you are. I really appreciate that and maybe those tracks are just part of the tapestry you’ve woven, they aren’t going anywhere. Say “thank you, love you, might get back to you” and write the music that’s hitting home right now. Dad ballads soon so hold on tight there’s nothing you can do about it. Embrace the dallad!! All the best mate

Me personally I’ve stayed single after a few rough relationships. My best friend is married and they have a kid on the way too. He still finds time to get in the studio and write songs. He is pretty connected to the nashville music scene. “A man never fails unless he quits” quote comes to mind. You can always just chose to take a break and come back when youve got your bearings.

Congratulations! Being a parent is wonderful. My personal experience is that you have to make choices. I had to give up my youtube channel that I just started and now I'm producing way less for myself so I could produce projects that I love and so I could still play bass in my band. In a way it helps me focus better. Making choices is a good thing. Good luck!

Hello Jon. Been a fan for years. Congrats on the baby! This video truly hits home and I think the comment sections shows it. As a fellow artist and someone who has experienced his fair share of direction dilemmas, I really recommend that you choose the project that excites you the most, period. To choose the one that really tickles your heart and focus solely or mostly on that. As a fan I'd continue to support you regardless of the genre/style you choose to pursue. I appreciate you as an artist, and from a fan's perspective, what I think a fan wants the most out of an artist, is for him to be wholeheartedly invested into whatever project he's undertaking. And in my opinion, this level of dedication is something you can only really attain once you're immersed into something you truly love. Thank you for keeping making videos!

Thank you for this Jon and congratulations on the baby. About music, I've been frustrated for the past couple of months. Most artists where I live wants to do the same thing and the people that are around that make the type of music I make are either not as serious or feel like they are doing me a favor (most of them don't pay a dime). I co-write, produce, mix and master the songs. For example, one guy in particular was arguing with me that I can't get songwriting credit because he feels songwriting is writing only the words and not the melody. I'm thinking of releasing songs without vocals but that's really hard to push here. Everything is just crazy. I make mainly pop (synthwave, funk, disco, cinematic pop almost any type of pop, I experiment a lot). I make RnB and dance music too mostly house or dance pop and I'm good with songwriting. I don't know what to do, I feel stuck.

thanx for the video - with your baby on the way soon you'll only have limited time, if it was me I'd put my spare energy into the new project - you've got momentum so just go with it - you can always go back to Jon Sine later when you feel the pull - goodluck with whatever you decide :)

Am 48 years old and just had a baby girl, I still produce, mix and master. It’s in my DNA! But prior to Yeshua finding me my Idol was Music Production, I can’t believe how blind I was all this time. Just put God first and he will allow you to see what truly matters and in what order. Now my family is involved with my music. Jon Sin (IDEA) turn this into something fun and also funny, your an amazing film maker, why don’t you turn Jon Sine into a second guy that comes into Against The AI life, sort of like Laidback is doing, but I know you can do it better. I always appreciated Jon sine teachings on music production, maybe this could also be a New Jon Sine Academy… hmmmm God bless you and Vanesa, I love you Jon, prayers for the baby!

The music will always be there for sale so you shouldn't end it, even if it is just one release a year, you never know how many fans you would have had. Today, extra income streams are smart because you never know when you might lose one unexpectedly. Having a baby doesn't change much except it makes you finally get serious and focused.

One day at a time and it will not overwhelm. If you think about the unknown it will overwhelm. First, a healthy baby. Then. In the first months, the baby will need Vanessa. Vanessa will need you. You will need the music. So it needs to be there for you. The baby will eat and sleep and repeat. You’ll find a rhythm that works for all of you. Congratulations good man. You deserve the very best! On fatherhood: I've seen many people who became fathers/mothers and since then, they don't have time for anything else. But, as far as I can judge, they are saying it as an excuse. Some of them are afraid to do the things they really want to do. Others would like to look virtuous by giving up everything and dedicating 100% of their time to their family. And there are others who are not afraid to ask others for help or hiring someone to help them with taking care of their children. I personally would recommend the second one, though I have no kids :D On the Jon Sine project: As a random dude on youtube, who does not know you, nor the music industry, yet, somehow I enjoy your videos, I don't really see why it is such a big deal. At the end of the day, it is you, making music, and that's what you love. Some distancing could help with these kind of questions. Imagine yourself 5 years from now. The importance of this question is probably much smaller from that distance. 5 years from now, would it matter if you released a few tracks from the Jon Sine project? Probably not. What I'm trying to say is: any decision is a good decision in this situation. I'm pretty sure, 5 years from now, you will still be making music, and make a living out of it. Who cares what will be the name of the project or the style of the music, as long as you like doing it, and you can make a living out of it.

Focusing on something doesn’t mean quitting another thing. I see that from a business perspective you do the right thing probably. Jon Sine project has matured and you have to make a decision to maintain it with as little effort as possible. And in the meantime grow against the a.I. the moment you see the Jon Sine bringing in nothing anymore you can “cancel” the project. iPhone 15 is coming out this year and I think the 11 or 12 is still being produced, however with no the same promotional effort. And the 11 will be discontinued but 12, 13 and 14 are still produced. So you might even think if new projects. I hope my analogy works here

It feels like you are already comited to stop the Jon Sine Project hahaha. If you are loving this new one and having good results i would say that you should go 100% with it. Threres no need to delete everything about Jon Sine, you could come back to that project if you feel it in the future. For me the against the AI is a very fun project and more atractive (this is just personal opinion), im loving the new songs I would love to see and hear more! Congrats and good luck with the baby!!

Perhaps it's cliche, but look at Armin van Buuren, I think it doesn't matter that much, as long if your happy with what you doing, do it! I became a dad verry early at the age of 25. I have kept making making music on the low for years, and it was wrong, i always had to struggle to get all bills paid, so my focus was always on work.

I think there's actually no reason to permanentely turn your back on a project if you still like it and/or have a strong emotional bond with it. Who cares if you're not releasing music under Jon Sine for some time (or even ever again). You evolved as an artist and have a big drive to create stuff, that's all that counts. I'm kind of in a similar spot right now, where I'm starting a new project and leaving the old one behind. I actually don't feel like doing something for the old one in the next 2 years or maybe ever again, but who know's, maybe I'll change my mind. That's why I've decided to just leave everything online and work on it whenever I feel like it.

Maybe keep Jon Sine on the back burner but don't give it up? It's your biggest project and something that got you started, so IDK if you should completely let it go. Maybe do one release every half a year or something like that? Also importantly, most people know you as Jon Sine and not as Against. The. AI.. Maybe you can use Jon Sine to promote your other alias as well? Oliver Heldens (alias HI-LO) and Laidback Luke (alias Dark Chanell) also do that. I'm sure you probably know all this, but I'm just putting out my inexperienced opinion. This is just my opinion, so take it with a grain of salt. Thank you so much for everything you do, Jon. We all are so happy for you! Also, many congratulations to you, Vanessa and both your families on the baby!
