That officer with that couple did awesome. Seriously, he didn't judge and calmly talked to them both. He sincerely wanted them to work it out and put forth the effort to not be just a polite cop but a decent human with compassion! We need more officers like him. What an example!

Why would the guy go to jail for public intoxication, he was asleep in the backseat? That logic would mean anyone at a bar waiting on a uber or a friend will be charged for public intoxication.

Alcohol laws are no joke. I keep telling Uber riders that but people don't listen. Unfortunately, Uber hides rider profiles so if they commit crimes we can't report them to police. They want us to use the Uber app. But that means we have no way to verify the rider actually got reported to police or if Uber gave them a verbal warning. Many of the riders put us in danger of receiving criminal penalties when they commit these crimes!
