Where is the evidence/citation that Hippolytus/ _The Apostolic Tradition_ refers to reserving the Eucharist in a tabernacle??

You guys wouldn’t happen to be recoding his On Apostolic Tradition anytime would you? :p It’s been on my list since I first read about it in Eusebius’ History of the Church. Thanks for a wonderful episode! It’s great getting the back story for names I am beginning to be familiar with through Eusebius.

We have considered it - we may do so in the future.

@@CatholicCulturePod Last question… do you have any good book/channel suggestions for looking strictly at early liturgy? It’s something I have been wanting to dive into more.

@@JoshN91 Mike says: "There's my book The Mass of the Early Christians. Lucien Deiss's Springtime of the Liturgy. Eugene LaVerdiere's The Eucharist in the New Testament and the Early Church. And Jerome Kodell's The Eucharist in New Testament. The order reflects my preference."

You forgot to mention that Vatican II's "return to the sources" was condemned by Pius XII as antiquarianism. In fact, "return to the sources" was a ruse to destroy the liturgy.

I agree that antiquarianism damaged the liturgy, but no, returning to the sources is not necessarily antiquarianism. I don't believe you will find an antiquarian statement in Vatican II. Antiquarianism means reverting to an older practice simply because is older - it does not mean looking back to what was and seeing what good things might be brought forth from the storehouse of ancient wisdom and practice. The Fathers of the Church are of perennial importance.
