Bonjour Dylane Is there a difference between "joyeux anniversaire" et "bon anniversaire?" If so, what is it? The song is sung with "joyeux anniversaire" - is it not? Can "anniversaire" also mean "wedding anniversary?" If so, do we just know by the context of the conversation? Or do we need to say "anniversaire de mariage?" Merci d'avance

They are just synonyms :) You can use the one you want, but for the song, it's more Joyeux anniversaire yes ;)

Bonjour Dylane I have always been under the impression that the words "bonne chance" are not to be used in French to say "good luck," and that "je te dis merde" is the actual phrase used to say good luck, but only in a familial setting. It's like saying "bien fait" to mean "well done" - which actually has the opposite meaning. Instead, "bravo" is the better option. So saying to someone "bonne chance" - so I have believed for many years - actually has the opposite meaning. Yet you say "bonne chance" is the right way to say "good luck" in French. Again, as a non-native French speaker, I defer to you on these types of issues. Maybe "bonne chance" needs to be used in a phrase like "je te souhaite bonne chance," instead of just by itself, to mean good luck?" Have I been believing a myth all of these years? Is another good option "bon courage?" Merci d'avance pour votre clarification sur ce sujet.

There is definitely that belief that saying Bonne Chance is unlucky, however, as an adult, I rarely say bonne m***. It's more of a kid thing and also very familiar :)
