I'm liking this channel a lot. I'm using an online language app to learn some French for my trip to France in 2025 and while I'm finding the app useful it lacks explanations I'm looking for when choosing the correct word. This channel helps me learn why I would use certain word such as en vs au vs aux. The app will just tell me I'm wrong and give the right answer without explaining why. Knowing why helps me learn faster and retain the knowledge longer.

@itzgoldenbae56086 жыл бұрын
Divya Kalra Mishra, using the word LUI in a feminine conversation is saying HER or SHE as d case may b, while in a masculine conversation is saying HIM. The example of MOI is dis(C'EST À MOI and C'EST MOI in English it means IT'S MINE and IT'S ME) While TOI is wen u are referring to someone for example (POUR TOI in English it means FOR YOU) mind you the word TOI and VOUS are d same but VOUS can also b use in a plural form. I don't know if you understand my explanation and please correct me if I made any mistake or you have any doubt dat am wrong bcos we are still learning.

7:00 As native French learner, you never learn which word is feminine or masculine and you never really formally learn about the liaison either (except that you shouldn't do a liaison in "des haricots" as the h is aspired.) You learn those things by practice. This being said, there are some word structures that are typically feminine or masculine (essentially it is the ending of the word that is important) and some categories of words also always (or mostly) have the same gender ( languages are masculine, trees are masculine, week days are masculine, most virtues are feminine,...)
