@@alexmaciel907 I am 18 well I suck...in my country all regualtions and shit...We can't drive cars unless we are 18+ and we can only drive 6 hours until we are 22 years old and that's not all but we also can only drive cars under 90hp.So here 18 years older could not drive Vettes,Mustangs,Rams...just boring small cars. In Serbia gas price is 12 times higher than in US,tax for one car woth insurance is 1000 dollars even knowing that grown man average salary is 300 in this comunist country.Life sucks down here. And then comes my parents and grandparents...their pressure is big because: 1.They would be jelaous if I got car 2.They have money but still won't buy me a god damn car 3.They won't allow me to drive my own car 4.They won't allow me to have anything woth more than 1.6 liters and it must be a boring diesel 5.The city is full of jelaous people whp would scratch your car because they are jelaous. 6.My parents do not allow me to learn how to drive on our family car but expect me to know how to drive and and pass driver's license tests. I have one message for my goverment, family, community and my city and it says: FUCK YOU!!!!

If that was his first time driving that truck then you should be damn proud of what he did and stop riding him so hard! It's easy for you because you know what your doing but nobody is going to learn that in one day. it takes time to learn how to shift, especially on floating! Just give him time and let him practice more because I think he did Great!

I've driven Module trucks, Dump trucks, and even combination with flatbeds, cotton seed trailers, belly dumps etc. Im 15 now and I can back up a 50ft trailer with my eyes closed. It's great to learn young because your mind is like a sponge.👌🏽

Honestly the portion when you down shifted through every gear was verrrrrry impressive (at least to me). I am a novice at best and all we have are 8LL transmissions in my families two tri-axles and I wish I had someone like you to teach me. I do the same thing your little brother does by rushing my shifts most of the time, and revving to high on the down shifts. I think a lot of it is just being nervous. Just remember don't get to frustrated w/ your brother. That can be the biggest deterrent to wanting to keep practicing.

I let my nephew drive the rotator around the yard and on some back roads. We turned around a curb and almost lost it! Had to turn it left a bit. He did great. Had him drive it a lot in the yard. He is 15. Had him drive it around the yard slow to get used to it and shift smoothly. I then drove up to some back roads and had him drive it. Kid did great. Turning the truck for him was a pain, and taking off too. Once he got it going he was good. Great to see you are teacher your brother. My brother wouldn’t do any of this he isn’t interested lol. I’m lucky my nephew is interested and likes driving the truck he has fun

Little bro is doing very well indeed! Just needs more practice and that comes with time at the wheel. He'll be as good and you not too far down the road. Kids are smart. More important, he WANTS to learn. He wants every shift to be smoooth and quick just like his big brother. And, for sure, he's on his way. PS Has a good teach, and a good example. I've known more than one guy twice his age who passed a CDL test and couldn't shift that well. True story. I don't know where you are at (I'm a pretty new subscriber) but in Nebraska we had to double clutch for the test; it was a requirement. So that might be worth showing him, also. You're both good and you both can be proud!

When they got higher in 4th 5th he grinds. Gotta match engine RPM with transmission he catches on. Your bro will get it. I was impressed on how he got the truck rolling so smoothly. First time I took my nephew in the yard he have it a lot of gas and shifted it. Lol. Told him to stop the truck, and then let it take off slow the rest.

Honestly he did a pretty good job. I remember how it felt. My dad gave me pressure just like this lol. Pero we live and learn. My dad had a 1991 international, I don’t recall how many gears it had but usually I had to use the transmission to slow down when I was hauling heavy loads. This was back when I was 16 going to 17. He did better than me lol.

There are definitely benefits to an automatic, but it can't replace how much fun a manual can be.

When I first drove a truck FOR REAL… I was just moving them around the yard getting into 3rd gear max. I didn’t know manual. If my father still would of had his old Mitsubishi montero manual transmission (damn good car shame the frame was about to crack in HALF… the winter for yeh. Frame NOT GOOD!) I would of learned on that car! I had some troubles sometimes with the clutch getting the truck rolling especially when it’s loaded. I empty a lot easier still a large truck though. Once I got it going I drove no problem floating gears. Listen to your engine I did. They all go right in. Had to learn ways to use clutch in order to get CDL though. Easiest way to drive is just use it to get going and just shift. Listen to motor and shift the gears. Downshifting… little harder still basically same thing. Play around with RPMs, tap the pedal. Get it all right basically find the trucks spot .

He will be good! I got to start shifting when I was 15. Sat in the passenger seat for years before that. Glad that’s how I learned. I was 16 driving down 75 in the middle of the night from Detroit to Dayton while the guy I rode with slept in the bunk. My goal was to get to the yard without waking him. I pulled it off once or twice

You teaching him gives me flashbacks of last year when I took my schools driving instructor, teaching me and then puting me on a test. It was to lower insurance costs on your car xD

Yes he did good. Perfect practice makes perfect. I’m a new trucker and I’m shifting pretty good now. Love your vids. I’ve learned so great shifting advice here. I downshift the same way you’re teaching him. I’m working one shifting with engine brakes on.

xNativeDogx to downshift with jakes I just lay my foot on the clutch enough to cut the jake off and drop my gear then move my foot and the jake kicks back on. May not be the right way for a lot of people but works for me.
