Apple Calendars. iMessage. Apple cables. Nothing worse than proprietary tech. That is one of the reasons I've never had an iPhone. I love Mac computers, but I want to use the best product in each category so I'm mixing and matching. I will have brand loyalty when brands are loyal to consumers. And that is never going to happen. Until then, I stick with brands that don't strong arm me into their ecosystems.

The thing most Apple users don't understand about Android is that it's 10x more customizable than iOS. If there's something you don't like about it, you can change it. Whether it's the lock screen, app shortcuts, animation speeds, text bubble colors, etc, all can be changed to how you'd prefer you aren't stuck with whatever Apple wants it to look like

I think it really depends on the user. For example, I’m not really a person that gets jazzed about “customizations” … I want my phone to be reliable, fast, simple interface, and have strong staying power with updates. Hate it or love it, iPhone does well with that. Especially if you’re like myself, and having the watch, and use a MacBook as a work driver on a daily basis. Seamless, easy, and predictable- nothing wrong with that.

The thing I don't get is that Samsung is the exactly same thing, but with the option to customize. If you don't, things will still work without any work required at all, you can just use the phone and that's it, still reliable, fast, easy and simple... for me that's selling a lack of features more than stability.
@Codyslx

Samsung is the exact same thing tho. Minus the ecosystem, but they are working on it with Microsoft. One ui 5.1 is extremely smooth and reliable and Android as a whole is simple. You don't need to go into deep customization if you don't want to.😊

@@Codyslxn my opinion those who has lot of free time can use android because Android has too many customization option that makes user life super complex. The person who has lot of free time and has no family friend colleague to talk with , then he can use android. IMO Apple ecosystem has the best solution for those who has very little time to use smartphone after giving time to work/family/friends/personal. Because Apple smartphone System is so efficient convenient smooth reliable and most secured that one can use their precious time with ease and Efficiency. So the person who actually has lot of time and no specific aim of spending time will go for complex android specially super duper complex Samsung. All I said from my personal experience.

Both Samsung and Apple phones have their pros and cons. I'm an S22 ultra user but I also have an iPhone 12 for work. I think that if i weren't a techie and I needed something really simple and easy to find my texting, photos etc., I'd go Apple. iPhones are great for grandparents and thats part of the reason they're so popular, mass appeal. After using the S22 Ultra for the past year and just upgrading to the S23 Ultra a few weeks ago I must say it's a complete beast of a phone performance wise. Feels more like a two year gap between phones, and I did have the Snapdragon Gen 1 version of the S22 Ultra. Think it's the combination of the 4.0 UFS memory and 5X Ram along with the Gen 2 chip and the kicker is the battery life is substantially better this year. I'm getting nearly a half days worth of extra battery life with my new phone which is not something that I was expecting. Usually when companies drastically improve performance there is a battery life hit or they have to make the battery larger to compensate. Not with the S23 Ultra, which is a welcome surprise. Also, something that I haven't seen mentioned is the much improved performance of the X70 Qualcomm modem with built-in AI and nearly 50% more power efficiency. I'm not getting any dropped calls that I was getting occasionally with the S22 Ultra and the call quality itself is much better....definitely a bonus when we actually have to make a phone call. I noticed the power curve is improved when using the Samsung 45 watt super fast charging and is quicker. Nice to see more and more Apple fans making the switch. I really like the freedom to use other products besides just Apple products and their walled garden. If I want to switch phones it's incredibly easy to take everything with me and my chargers still work. Actually quite surprised Apple is still using the outdated lightning port on their iphones. They have even switched to the superior USB-C port on their iPad Pros but are really dragging their feet on their phones I would think for pure profit. Couple things. Check out One Hand Mode in the settings if your hands are on the smaller side. It's quite useful and can be initiated quickly if needed in certain circumstances. Also, you can speed up the animations from 1.0 to 0.5 ms in the Developer Mode which is a nice little option. The stacking widgets on the home screen is a really nice feature I find myself using fairly often. Thanks for the review and enjoy your new phone!

Refreshing, very cool unbiased video. I didnt know about the space bar feature. I just tried it on my S23 Ultra and i was able to move it left, right, up and down with ease ! I do find it easier to click on the text and get the cursor exactly where i want it to be (compared to Iphone where it selects the whole word instead of moving the cursor) Anyways, thanks for the amazing tip 😁😁

If you're really an Apple fanboy then you're deep into the ecosystem like many of us. If you switch to an Android phone then it becomes a huge monkey wrench in the chain. I know it well because Monday to Thursday I use an iPhone 13 Pro Max then I use an Android device from Friday to Sunday night. I take my SIM card and move it around. At one point I had 4 phones in rotation. I just sold my S20 Ultra, Note 20 Ultra and Google Pixel 6 Pro. So I'm down to the iPhone and S21 Ultra only. The Pixel isn't my jam, apparently I like Samsung UI 5 even though my house runs on Google Nest products (doorbell, outdoor cameras, thermostat, etc). Now I am ready to build a second ecosystem with Samsnung. I have a phone, gonna buy Samsung Watch 5 and Earbuds2 Pro next.

Great video. For smaller hands, you can adjust the size of the keyboard on the Galaxy yes? Also, you can customize the back button at the bottom of the screen (have it on the left side, which is intuitive, but on the right side is more ergonomic as your thumb travels a shorter distance and is the most used button). Always had Samsung. Loads of friends have iphones but I'm seriously not tempted to move. Now have Note 20 ultra (can't bear to loose micro sd card!) and a fun Flip 4 . Agree about Secure Folder. Don't think that's available on non Samsung phones. I also use daily the S pen and scroll capture [try it!]. Also now using the zoom camera feature that went live on my Watch 4 last week. Find the best use for the watch is calorie counter in conjuction with S health. I know the Note has the slow processor but it's milliseconds so I'll stick with it another year! Sorry u had trouble with pay. My bank (Nationwide) supports Samsung and Google pay.

As a certified Samsung Fanboy, the S22 Ultra is a horrendous phone in comparison to the S23. I received my S23 Yesterday (Admittedly with a broken screen, thanks Samsung) and I just tested a few things with it, such as running benchmarks, which the S23 almost doubled the S22 in, and my favourite test was how long it takes to install apps. My S23, did it in roughly 1 seconds after downloading. My S22 Exynos, averaged around 18 seconds. Huge improvements, and a huge thank you to Samsung for finally dropping Exynos.
