As a Retired Autobody Technician I applaud Law Enforcement for the work they Did in this case. Many Times, I had to work for free because of a car thief. The not only steal cars but also steal money out of Hard-working Technicians who are just trying to make a life for themselves and their families. Once a Car that has been stolen and is repaired by a technician, The Customer will always bring it back to the shop saying, "it wasn't like that before it was stolen" and the technician will end up making more repairs on his time because the customer isn't happy. Many times, those in the industry knows that it is fraud on the part of the customer but can't prove it. So, it falls back on the Technician to make the repair which may or may not be warranted. I hope the Court does the right thing and makes this gang of thieves spend a long time thinking about their life choices and makes them recompensate their victims. I firmly believe that it's time for State and Federal Legislators to get serious about this so called property crime and pass new laws making the Car thieves fear getting caught and increasing mandatory sentences to make sure that 1 a car thief know it will be a long time before he is out of Prison, 2 make restitution a requirement for not only his direct victim but the people who work to repair the damage the thief has done, 3 make it mandatory life registration and just being behind the wheel of a car an automatic return to Prison. As for Victims of Car theft, sell it, Trade it, but whatever you do Never Drive the car again once it has been stolen, you'll never be happy with it again.

That’s a C7 ZR1 they sell for 150-170k currently. 755hp supercharged and super rare and to answer your question no it definitely doesn’t work that way insurance is going to fight back on a $170k claim. Any car over $150k will get forwarded to special investigations and trust me they will find any and everything you’ve texted, posted, told a friend etc. it’s definitely not a simple my car was stolen write me a check. I had a friend have to go under oath and turn over all his phone records when his $305k Urus was stolen at a shopping center. Took over a year for a decision car was worth 305k insurance paid him out 210k
