Robert Jamison Hi Patrick. Another great video. I live in Sheffield and since retiring in 1995 have walked many of the routes and areas of the Peak District that you so wonderfully record. Unfortunately at 92 I now find most of these trails are now a bit beyond my capabilities. Your efforts are enabling me to revisit and see places I have long loved and appreciated. Thank you so much.

Very enjoyable and your honed professional craftmanship is evident. I'm so sad to hear that some people have to be horrid. I can't think why. Greetings from NewZealand. The last time I was at the Hunting Tower was when I was 16 or 17 and that was 60 years ago so thanks for reacquainting me with tower. Dont remember seeing the Swiss lake though. Visited Chatsworth in 96, likely my last time. Yes what a place. Looks to be too crowded now for my liking but the "bums on seats" pays for its up keep which must be phenomenal. All credit to the Duke and Duchess and staff for all their hard work and vision in keeping this place open for the public to enjoy. Many thanks Patrick for you hard work too in producing these vids. Great stuff. Peter.

Yes, we do watch your videos until the end credits, that how we noticed that you did the music for the video yourself. In regards to the negative comments, please try to not let them get to you. Everyone will have a different perception of what they think your video should be like or try to pick out faults. It's YOUR channel and YOUR style, and so what if you make the odd mistake (not that we've noticed). Don't forget how many subscribers you have and how many positive comments you get...they certainly outweigh the negatives 😊👍

It's been so good to see the further reaches of the Chatsworth Estate in your recent films, parts I have never had the time to explore but wish I had been able to. Forty years ago a day drive to Chatsworth or Bakewell or Matlock was quite easy. Today's traffic makes it a long tedious day, with little chance to do much more than visit the house and gardens. Many thanks.

Thanks Michael, yeah I often forget how much there is to see around Chatsworth, aside from going inside the house and gardens. Many thanks for watching and commenting 👍

Hello Patrick, just a couple of comments. Why Sheila and I like your videos and we mentioned this a couple of years ago (1) People relate, as it is not presented by a TV celebrity having a go at sheep shearing or some such past time they are useless at but a bloke walking along showing us the highlights of the area.(2) Music fits in nicely and makes for comfortable viewing (3) You do everything yourself in a professional manner if there are "mistakes" we don't see them (4) Any one with negative comments should go bag their head and troll someone else! Finally, keep up the good work you owe it to your legion of fans! Pete and Sheila Tasmania Oz

Hi Patrick. What an unusual building the Hunting Tower as an architectural design. Nice environment surrounding the area of your walk. I agree with your comments about building up friendships with the comments on our channel. Its a real community spirit I find that too. Like yourself I tend to not take criticism too well either, so I know the feeling!!. I liked the Sowter stone though. Impressive. Familiar scenes around Chatsworth House to me.👍

Hi Patrick. I was born and raised in Baslow so your last three videos have been wonderful to watch. As kids, Chatsworth estate was our playground and we spent most of our school holidays there. We used to paddle along the top of the aqueduct right to the end! I don't think that would be allowed today do you? I still live close to the Peak District but these days I drive through it more than I walk so I thoroughly enjoy seeing you doing all the walks I once did. I also love your atmospheric musical accompaniments. I too play keyboard and I appreciate your talent.

My mother taught me the same thing. If you don’t have anything nice to say then don’t say anything at all but 😀😀😀. It was a great walk and what views along the way too. I had a chance to go to Chatsworth a few years ago with some family members but I turned it down. I could kick myself now. My friend writes books. He gets loads of good reviews but sadly only the odd negative one sticks in his mind. You’re the same and it’s just who you are. Most people are like that too, me included. A really enjoyable walk and thanks for bringing us along. I hadn’t seen an aqueduct for years. Cheers Patrick and enjoy your weekend 😀

Loved this video Patrick, thanks for your hard work as usual and I for one watch the end credits; don't like to miss anything, lol. Been to Chatsworth of course but never ventured out into the surrounding woodland and so I have missed the likes of Dukes seat, the Hunting Tower and the amazing Sowter Stone, how lovely. Ah I think you may be referring to the Singing Ringing Tree. Not sure if you ever saw the film of that walk which I made back in 2017, but it's number 077. There's so much so see around Chatsworth, hence making more than one film recently to cover as much of it as possible. You'll have a great time when you come here for your camping trip, hope the weather stays good for you. As always many thanks for your comments and for watching 👍

I always make it to the end of your videos, Patrick; which is strange considering I often avoid longer-form KZbin videos when I'm busy. So you must be doing something right. As for criticism: I generally find very little fault in your work, as the overall quality is consistently good. But even if I was to find something, in particular, that I didn't like in one of your videos, I don't think that commenting on that would be of any practical benefit to you; unless I felt that it was a consistent flaw. But we do all need to be more open to criticism; providing that it is Constructive and actually Helpful. But the thing is, many people do find it very easy to pick apart another persons work and then say what They would have done differently; or what You should or shouldn't have done without them even knowing the first thing about what headaches you went through just to get the damn thing finished at all!

Thanks for that Jack, glad my videos keep you glued all the way! 😄 I think constructive criticism is fine, but it's not so fine when people are only able to criticise and not say anything positive. Some people seem only able to comment when they find fault with something, not on anything else which is good. Anyway, as mentioned in this film, all that is thankfully in the minority. As always Jack thanks for commenting and for taking the time to watch 👍

@@solitaryrambler I think you've got your format nailed; and it works perfectly well; so I see little reason for it to be changed, unless you yourself personally decided to try something new with it. Which makes me want to ask you: are there any other types/styles of films that you'd be curious to try making ever in the future??? As I did appreciate the semi-fictional/more personal elements that used to feature regularly in your earlier works.

Hi there, have you done a video inside chatsworth house please?

Genuinely, Patrick, please research Autism and Asperger's. I am sure it will answer questions and explain why you take horrible comments to heart. I can dyspraxic and am VERY proud of it. Finding out, in 2013, just lifted so much stress and confusion from off of my shoulders. Great video. I have never seen the Hunter Tower close up. Being disabled - chronic foot pain and early onset osteoarthritis - I am never likely to. Your videos are always a joy - informative and great scenery. Keep doing what you're doing.

Ignore the troll and keyboard warriors. But just remember, even the negative comments boost visibility through algorithms. Every cloud has a silver lining. :)

Thanks Rachel, I must admit I never figure out how the algorithms work, but that's definitely a positive way to look at it 👍

Great video Patrick, loved the sculptures, but the wheelchair friendly kissing gate tops it for me. Yes always read the description under each video but confess to not always watching the credits. Can’t beat a bit of constructive criticism, but most criticism on You Tube and elsewhere is totally negative and made by individuals who are too lazy to get out and make their own films😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@solitaryrambler2 жыл бұрын
Yeah that kissing gatge is fab isn't it, prefer it to the sculptures personally as I find they make the estate look a little tacky. However, at least they're not permanent features! As said in this, there's always the odd ones who can only make critical comments, and some quite rude too, but they tend to be people who are unidentifiable, so they hide behind their computer or phone when making such remarks 👍

Many thanks Frank and Lee. Glad you enjoyed this walk, there's a lot to see around Chatsworth which is why I've been covering it over several films. I know you love the work I do and so do many others, which I appreciate very much. Unfortunately it's always the negative ones, however infrequent they may be, that tend to stick in your mind more, but there you go. Thanks for watching and hope you both have a great weekend 👍
