Given how much of a loyal friend Felicity has been maybe you could reward her by doing some of the small jobs like the water pump, oil cap etc. On a seperate note I still cannot believe this channel only has 5k subscribers, extremely under rated channel.

Having owned only Škoda’s for most of my driving career , and being a hard core enthusiast of the winged arrow marque, I knew even before the video finished, that this little gem would complete the trip. Škoda’s are, and have always been , renowned for realisability,. Decades of proud rally heritage, including many class wins is testament to that. This lovely Felicia is ready for more adventures I think. My last Fabia was called Felicity. Great content, I enjoyed watching it❤.

Old Skodas are wicked. May not be the flashiest car, but I’d trust an old Skoda to go to Scotland and back more than most modern cars. My friend used to have a Fabia VRS (1.9 TDI) with 280,000 miles and a remap with 300bhp. It never broke!!

Aren't the modern Skoda's just re-badged Volkswagons assembled in a Czech factory ? It was decades ago, but I've owned several Skodas but they were the rear engine 1100cc ("S110L"?), a real Communist era, modified design, under licence from old Renault design. I loved it. The grip of rear engine weight over the rear driving wheels was amazing, plus super light non-power steering, because of a light front end. AMAZING heaters, like all the original Skoda and Lada. After I bought mine, I paid extra to have the removable tempered glass panel Sun-roof properly installed at an auto-body place. It was fabulous, second best to having a real convertible. Plus it made the already amazing heater/demister/ventilation function even better !

Nice trip and video, I really enjoyed that. Last year I did 4000 miles in Europe in my old 2008 Suzuki SX4. She finally started running rough towards the end but she got me back home where I donated it to the local trade school for mechanics. I know that feeling how a car can feel like an old friend after many years and many long journeys. Lack of cruise control was the biggest problem really, my right leg ending up almost frozen in place after hours and hours on the road. St Malo to Valencia in two days was my biggest leg though!

In mid 80s my life changed immeasurably and I was utterly broke. I bought a very old skoda Estelle 1.2 in olive green with hole in the wing for £80. The awful steering box, blah blah used it for a year then upgraded to a 1.3 for £250. Ran this for 5 years and had 180k on it when I sold it,. Would go everywhere especially in the snow. I have great respect for these as utilitarian tools. I put contactless ignition in and was never let down.. reminded me of my hillman imp. Easy diy and tough as old boots. I never recovered financially in my life and have run bangers. Now got 17 yr old berlingo totally reliable high mileage, zero rust, smooth ide, quiet and capacious. My friends rib me but I like not investing money in 4 wheels. Cars are a status in uk

I love these sort of trips. I once did a Reading to Aberdeen return, on a 90cc Vespa scooter. It took a total of five days, sleeping in hedges, and on used car forecourts, eating nothing but garage fodder. My only break downs, a clutch cable, two punctures, and two spark plug changes. I believe it was over one thousand one hundred miles. I can still remember the arse pain today.

It's ALWAYS the clutch cables that break on Vespas ! MY dad had a couple over the years, a 50cc and a 150cc, and several friends had Vespas also. This is back when they were cheap transport for poor people that couldn't afford a real, higher powered motorbike. Nowadays they have become trendy and ridden by Latte sipping Yuppies for brownie points. Now, here in New Zealand anyway, the cheapest wee Chinese scooters cost about $2,000 new, whereas cheapest new Vespa costs like $7,000 . That's literally 3 times the price of a nice older model of convertible car, which has a heater and windscreen wipers for those wet day rides !
@grahamherbert36125 ай бұрын
@@KiwiCatherineJemma Interesting. In the UK, both the classic (pre-1985) Vespa and Lambretta, are very niche hobby vehicles, ridden only by ex- Mod revivalists, race tuners, and long distance tourers. To see a modern Vespa on the road is actually quite rare. Real 'scooterists' prefer the two stroke engine to the unresponsive four stroke, and they often tune them to do over 100mph. These guys are real hardcore scooter advocates, and would never ride a normal motorcycle.

It saw us driving from Czechia to places such as Toulon in France, and Elba and the Gargano peninsula in Italy. We sold it to a neighbour who drove it for many more years, until eventually giving it to his grandson who finally wrote it off by crashing it into a ditch a few years ago.

I took a 1983 Renault LeCar (R5) on a 10,485-mile (approximately 17,000km) round trip from Wisconsin to Alaska and back in 2010. New Renaults haven't been sold in the US since 1985 and were never popular so the hope of parts and service was dim but the only thing I did was service the vehicle thoroughly and repair or replace anything I thought was suspect and I took off with my two German Shepherds. The only issue I had was the car was a chip in the windshield from gravel being thrown up by a passing semi-truck.

My daily driver is a 100,000 mile 2004 Toyota Corolla that I got for $2,700CDN. I am planning a 3,000 mile drive to Bekize from Southern Ontario, Canada. My last car was a 1990 Volvo 240 estate. A mattress fit in the car, tailgate closed. You need to learn how to cook under the bonnet while you drive. It does work.

@@epiccarshow you don’t need to know all the cars to provide entertainment. Keep up the good work, nothing like a road trip!
