Look how much fukn land is wasted to feed cows through fk load of plants, because the majority of ppl are too fkn fat, stupid, and addicted to just eat plants. We no longer need to eat non human animals for survival. It's extremely wasteful, literally uses up over 80% of all farmland, and most of the world's PLANTS grown for food, are to feed those FKN animals. If the "meat" industry wasn't heavily subsidized youd all be paying $100 PER POUND of red meat or whatever. Seriously this chit needs to stop

There needs to be a James May personality. The "neutral" person to hold the original two a bit back and be the anchor for these awesome drifting ships without a captain ⚓😊 i don't mind a top gear rebirth with TH To copy or build a show on and fenomenal recipe and idea like original 2000's Top Gear ... When I first saw James's AE86 and noticed the decal, I couldn't help but wonder why he used it. But when Thomas had to ask and pulled out the translator I couldn't stop 😂! 日本語で何か (と思う)literal translation, 日本語で何か, "nihongo de nanika?" Something in Japanese (the language specifilly, not the culture) , と思う, "to omou" which means "I think" as described by your own thoughts. This is truly legendary James! A one of a kind AE86!

Oh, the memories!!! When I first moved to AZ back in 95, I bought an ‘84 GTI just like this, black ext. and blue interior, for about $1500. I took my wife out in our first date in that car, drove to CA and Vegas in that car, etc. I wound up buying a brand new 2002 GTI, and parked this little guy for about 4 years. I wound up donating the car to charity. About a year later I saw a young family driving the car locally and was glad to see “Helmut” running and on the road.

I am a huge rabbit enthusiast and work for VW as an engineer today because of my lifelong love of the mk1 rabbit. I would LOVE to have some of your time and interview you sometime. I have tons of info on the people and the plant and view it as my role to be a historian and pass on the lessons learned for future VW. Chattanooga has benefited a lot here from the lessons learned there and made some of the same mistakes too. I’m dead serious, I’d love to interview you or be your pen pal or something.

That's fantastic!! I purchased my first Rabbit, a '79 Diesel L in 1988, in 2 parts. $150 for the car, and $150 for the engine that had been removed. Ultimately added a factory AC system, and a 5 speed, Mk1 Scirocco wheels painted white to match the car, and a Kamei air dam. Had a custom CA plate that read: GTI WNAB I put several hundred thousand miles on it and only sold it because I found an '81 Rabbit Diesel LX Pickup in a field for free, and fully restored it to original. By then I had moved through the ranks of the local German independent repair shops, and was the lead VW tech at the local dealer. I still have the pickup and it is still my pride and joy. The stories of the Westmoreland plant and the early days of VW in SoCal are near and dear to my heart!! Would have loved to have helped with the GTI in this video series, so that it could have been a much better representation of what truly amazing and inspiring cars the Mk1's (of all types 17's) were.

I'll give Thomas a pass for saying Westmoreland, Pennsylvania. They were actually made in New Stanton, Pa., which is in Westmoreland County. VW made a huge investment there in the 80's but ultimately sold the plant to Sony who made TV's there through the 90's and early 00's.

Epic video guys. The whole team did a stellar job. Between the 6th gear discovery, the "Something in Japanese" and the 'Merican straight up firing off "Where you foreigners from?" So many perfectly captured moments. Plus the subtle hints of how much the US and especially Arizona LOVE their guns. Again, beautifully put together guys. Cant wait for the next episode!

A car often overlooked in the 80s, that had more performance than both of these cars stock, is the Honda Accord Lx-i. This was the first Fuel Injected Accord, and they were amazing! They weighed more than these two, but you got dual wishbone suspension all around, 20-30 more tq/hp than these two, had a significantly lower center of gravity, and lasted an incredibly long time. You could also have it in three body styles, at the same curb weight: Coupe, Hatchback Coupe, and Sedan. Yes, you could get a Prelude with more power, but it was actually heavier than the Accord, even though it was based on the Accord....

An Accord had independent double wishbone suspension? Holy shit, how have I not heard of this?
@therocket280z7
@therocket280z7 9 ай бұрын
@@RhodokTribesman I can't say why of course. But, it was often described as an "Unequal Length Control Arm" design. Which is what a Double Wishbone is, if done properly. The design was a Multi-Link lower, and A-Arm upper control arm, with Coilover Shock, design. It did get more true Wishbone style parts in the 90s and beyond.

You guys deserve a full TV show. The next generation of Top Gear, perhaps?

The American TV-making ecosystem seems to be poison for creativity, please no. The reason Top Gear worked as well as it did was because the presenters and Andy Wilman had full creative control.
@MaxStraesser

@@verdict1163 as long as that remains the case with Throttle House too, it could be a genuine success for both viewers and a company like HBO or even KZbin. More budget, more opportunities, the rest to remain as it is right now.

I own a 2008 Honda civic and it is super light. I’ve noticed that all the wear and tear items last so much longer because of it being so light. The brakes don’t get wore down as much because it’s not stopping as much mass. The engines not over laboring because it’s having to move such a cumbersome object around. It really is true. Wait resolves a lot. The tires last longer if you rotate them. It truly is amazing.

Drifting was started by the DK (drift king). Sprinter Trueno AE86 is famous for Keiichi Tsuchiya. He is a Japanese professional race car driver. He is known as the Drift King or DK. He is the one who started nontraditional use of drifting in non-drifting racing events and his role in popularizing drifting as a motorsport. Still he owns the same car. Since then AE86 is famous for its shape, easy to work nature and light weight. This car really inspired lots of car enthusiasts and Japanese anime creators and movie makers.
