So glad to see you went with a new oil pump as well dude, I was quite surprised you were considering one of the two manky old ones you had, whilst you were standing next to a shiny bottom end freshly rebuilt with all new bits lol I remember how clean the smallblock was in your old nova so I had a feeling you'd go for a new one 😉

It was an extra £200 I hadn't planned on, but wasn't worth the risk with everything else new!

@@SuperRon aye that's true, but when you'd spent a lot of time and effort to go through everything else top to bottom, it just makes sense doesn't it as then the whole engine is pretty much brand new, and 'should' give you peace of mind for a couple hundred thousand miles to come 🤙👌

tensioner should go anti clockwise from 7 to 5 oclock

You forgot to swap over the oil cooler thermostat from an old oil pump mate

I put it on after the cambelt @ 14:40. The filter was just on there loosely to keep the dust out initially

i think upper sump works better with selant than gasket. Theres a way to mensure pump, you need open and use a calipters gauge.

Good spot! I was concentrating on making sure the crank was central in the seal. All seems ok luckily and no leaks.

I nheed a black boot spoiler for a gsi Ron if you have one spare. Il take the whole boot.

The paint work is pretty rubbish on the spoiler, I will be breaking the black one once I'm happy I don't need anything else for the blue one

Will be breaking it once the blue one is on the road and I know I dont need any more bits, will still be taking lots like bumpers, splash guards, brakes, trims etc to finish the blue one

There are timing marks on the the cam and crank pulleys
