I been watching Mr. Diaz for sometime now.very impressive martial arts. They represent their method exceptionally. Would dig training with them one day. Another excellent podcast my friend. Aloha keep training.

That was a good interview. The translator was struggling a bit but props to her. Regarding what you said about Savate. I don't think we should confuse Savate and the Dutch style of Kickboxing. Savate is it's own thing, it's a form of Kickboxing sure but Dutch Kickboxing has it's own separate path and history. I'd argue Savate's history is way older. In Savate you fight with some shoes on, also you can't block/check a low kick with the shin, you have to dodge it, what the French call "esquive." You also can't chain punch, you have to mix in kicks with your punches, or else I believe you get a warning. There's no clinching in Savate, there are no knee strikes either. Sadly the French have been terrible at preserving and promoting Savate. It had a great contribution to the global world of kickboxing decades ago, but this influence is dying off.
