The only long videos (duration) that I watch with pleasure, concentrated from beginning to end, prepared to appreciate that fine sense of humor so characteristic of yours and also because I always learn something; They are what you make. Excellent double repair. A sincere congratulations.Thanks a lot for sharing. All the best.

A little more than a fuse this time, nice job on that QFN I struggle with those and need to practice a lot more. Your videos are packed with useful information and tips for others trying to fix these, I don't though as I do not have the expertise and would probably end up wasting money buying broken PS5's off of ebay and just not be able to fix them. I would try fixing my own though if I had one (which I don't) and it broke. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and posting the videos I enjoy watching them esp the longer ones.

Educational, interesting, entertaining, inspiring, riveting, … the list goes on and on. I doubt there’s enough broken PS5s for this to ever get old for me. 😎

Lightning fast troubleshooting. Great work sir. :) Question, where did you source your test leads that you have connected to the KP184? Those are not gator crimps at the end. Looks like they are form fitting to connect to the psu terminals.
@ToltecMerc
@ToltecMerc Ай бұрын
Thank you! I made the test leads for the KP184. They are just some flexible silicone wiring with 1/4" blade terminals on the end. The blade terminals fit nicely into the socket on the PS5 power supply.

Here in Ass-Trail-yah I was taught in a specific University soldering set of modules to tin both "all of the PCB chips mating surface and the entire replacement chips surface first, and then using a flux-soaked Solder braid we remove most of the large surfaces followed by applying a small blob on a central corner of the PCB and another small blob diagonally across the mating surfaces on the chip, I was also taught to preheat the PCB before placing the chip down and only put it down when the small blob on the PCB spread out a little to which then the Chip is placed into position keeping the heat on until the chip has been observed to be drawn down and centred... JOB DONE. no need to put the chip under stress by extra heat by man handling the chip down to the Board.. Sorry for nit picking especially if you Americans have been taught differently, otherwise I really enjoy your professionalism and attention to detail. APU 👁👍

Great work 👌👍👏 How did you find out that capacitor needs to be checked?
@ToltecMerc
@ToltecMerc Ай бұрын
I had seen caps in that area short due to lightning damage on previous repairs. I started to check across each one with my meter in resistance mode and I had a working power supply right beside the broken one. The two boards are identical so the readings should be almost identical. Doing comparisons like that makes repairs easier.

@ToltecMerc Thank you very much for the reply. It is rare to find a capacitor developing a partial short, or rather, a passive component developing a partial short.

Great video with troubleshooting. Do you know what your camera to microscope adapter you have? I have so much trouble getting my video aligned with what I see in my eyepiece.
@ToltecMerc
@ToltecMerc Ай бұрын
Thank you! My microscope is an AmScope. My camera is a very generic Chinese scope camera. So generic, it does not have a brand name on it. My scope camera and my eye ports do not match perfectly. I have to have a monitor off to the side so I can see what is being recorded in the microscope. The trick is in the adapter piece between the trinocular port and the camera. I have tried several different ones. My current adapter is a .35X model. It is still not perfect but it's the closest I have found.

Quick question for you. PS5 board that beeps for 1 second with a .285 draw on start up. Uart states a generic fault, probably related to a 3v short No shorts found, all power rails present Any idea what it might be with that amp draw?

Did you know there was a leak with PS5 schematics and many more interesting files for EDM-010 boards? If you can make a video repairing a board using the schematics that you couldn't repair before would make very interesting content IMO.

After disassembling PlayStation 4 Slim, the device started emitting three quick beeps and shows a blue light as soon as it's plugged into power. I’ve tried fixing this issue, but without success. Has anyone else experienced this problem? "My PlayStation 4 Slim is having an issue. I took a dump from the Noor chip and it seems fine when the device turns on with the blue light, but the processor doesn't work because it doesn't heat up. I need to repair the device by any means. The device contains an active primary account with games worth $2000, and the client will cause a big problem for me. Please help."

Toltec I know you’re a busy guy. But if you have the time, I’ve got a ps5 that only pulls .003 amps. I’ve been chasing the short for days. You have any direction for me? Thanks for the video’s too. mmash36

If it never draws more than 3mA, something is very wrong. Do you have 5V going into the RT5126/DA9065? Do you have 3.3V and 1.15V coming out of the RT5126/DA9065?
