Heatwave 218k isn't anything to sneeze at. I came here for the Shasta restoration because I'm restoring a Chinook, but now I'm enthralled with generator and weed whacker revival.

You probably wont see this comment since the video is old but I cried a little when you talked about coping with stuff, my current situation ticks all the boxes except the relationship one. Im drencher in studying and finacial worries and dont love my parttime job. What I wanted to say is tinkering with engines is my therapy as well, probably why im watching the whole PW series. What you said really resonated, love the channel. Hope you read this, you guys’s content is medicine for me

I think I remember something in high school auto shop about bearings wearing into a camshaft and crank shaft. I guess on a car engine you have tight specs and on a PW50 engine you can mix and match bearings that are not from the original crankshaft.

"Eat the fireworks" LOL :-D You are a very talented man, i don't think there is much you can't do :-). Pullers are a god send, they just make the job so much simpler, i have a two arm puller from my teens (a bloody long time ago lol), used for pulling bearings off puch maxi engines. They were cheap ones but worked so well. You are spot on with the life understanding, it has a habit of causing problems you have no control of, don't panic is the best way of dealing with life. But its sometimes hard to stay calm.

Yes we get tied up in knots about things we can't control. I try to keep some balance though and working on things and doing the videos is a great outlet for that.

You can check the bearings of your chrankshaft by hitting the pleul, while the rest of the chrankshaft is in the air ! If you hear a ringing tone, the bearings are dead (;
@lifelikedandy
@lifelikedandy 6 жыл бұрын
Im not sure but I think you loaded the inner ring of the bearing while pulling it out of the case. This causes an axial load on the balls, which then mess up the race. One should always load the ring that is being held to the shaft or case. Love your videos though. Keep up the great work.

At least there was oil in this engine to prevent rusting!
@GaryLordsWayMinistry
@GaryLordsWayMinistry 4 жыл бұрын
You should clean off the crankshaft and get it free from rust and dirt before trying to pull the case of of it dragging the crankshaft through that bearing and causing cuts in the rubber seal on the inside of that bearing. Or it too will leak after pulling the cases of of the shaft.

5:10 I don't think it's and I just think it's sand. But by the looks of that case it does look like the engine wasn't properly broken in those could potentially be metal shavings

There is a rubber damper on the primary gear I think. If you are wondering if it's damaged, search for a picture of it on ebay, partzilla etc. and see if it matches yours. Good luck.
