....I would say "had". My first 22lr was a bolt action savage knock off. (Tube fed bolt action gambles hardware store model) . My next was a marlin 60. When I had heard for some years how so much better the 10/22 was, I finally bought one. .......10 years later I gave it to my daughter. To this day I swear that was the least accurate rifle I've ever had. I have taken pump action bb guns out to eliminate pests but I never took that rifle out to shoot anything but paper. I may have got a very pretty lemon but I'll never buy another ruger. That 10/22 was 3x what you could get a new marlin 60s for , which is what I bought my son for Christmas that same year, and shot 10x worse

22 LR is a greatly underrated cartridge. It's NOT a 308 or 30-06....but it's way more effective than most peole think. :)

I own a couple 22lr rifles and a few 22lr handguns. I love the 22 caliber. You can definitely survive with a 22lr rifle. You can knock down a deer with a 22lr if you have a good bullet placement

Fun video! If you had compared a PCP in .22 and .177 the .22 might win however in a Springer the .177 wins because it shoots flatter and has enough energy for a brain shot on any legal small game or pest. It's also cheaper to shoot and you can use it in competition. The .22LR wins strictly for the ability to take body shots at small game.

Try the cci quiet .22lr. You will have to sight it in, but it works great for squirrel. It don't pass through and don't tear up the meat. It won't cycle a semi automatic but your bolt action would work great with it

Hey there fellas‼️ I own a couple 22LR rifles rifles. I like shooting them, but I live in the city so, I can only use them at the gun range. But I own a awesome pellet/BB gun. It's a pump. This thing is pretty powerful pump it up 10 times and it can go through Quarter inch plywood. It can almost make it through half inch plywood. And I love using it for rats and mice.

Your groups with the .177 might tighten up considerably by using the "artillery hold" rather than shooting from the lead sled..I've taken squirrels, pigeons, crows, and rabbits with a break-action .177. Up to raccoons with a .22 break-barrel. My .22 airgun can consistently hit a standing .410 hull or 270 casing out to 50 yards. Love your videos! Keep on keepin' on!

177 leaving the muzzle at 1,000 ft per second definitely will expand if you can find an accurate one... Actually they expand to the size of a 22 pellet. With much higher velocity, and more accuracy than 22.

Bullet weight is measured in grains not grams. In my opinion for accuracy, I tend to lean towards the .22 caliber rifle. On the break down air rifle, it’s driven by a piston and a spring. Over time the spring gets weaker resulting in slower bullet speeds, hence you lose accuracy. I don’t know much about PCP guns, but it’s a lot of work having to air up a tank, plus your limited on how many shots you fire before the air runs out, resulting in lower air pressure, slower bullet or less accuracy. With the .22 rifle, you’re shooting the same load, the bullets have the same powder measure in each shell matched to the different bullet weights resulting in better accuracy and groups. But, you’ve got to experiment with different bullet weights and types, copper or lead bullets, and different brands of shells. Shoot groups of 3-5 shots, and you’ll see which shells your gun likes according to your groups on paper. But, in my opinion, I’d go with the .22 caliber rifle to hunt varmits and small game out in the field with. However, make sure what is legal in your state to hunt with a rim fire rifle. For just plinking in the back yard, or in a place with houses nearby, I’d go with pellet guns. And also, sound is measured in decibels not gigabytes. 😂 Had to put that one in there, I’m a sound engineer.

Silent hugely more power than any springer ..pcp s are getting there though still love my 177 springers ( its copper coated lead bullet ) about 40 grain ) hollow points in air guns only open up after hitting bone , IF they have enough kinetic energy ,, 177 from 10-60 every time up to 22 ft lb
