The Beretta APX has a unique look but cuz all the qualities you would want in a full size. After taking this to the range I have to say I am extremely impressed and I look forward to spending more time with this beauty the Beretta APX.

I have a Beretta APX cal. .40 full size and my experience with it has been 100% satisfactory. In the armory they obviously offered me Glock but I opted for Beretta APX not only for its slightly lower price than Glock but also for its reliability since Beretta is an arms company with a long tradition and unquestionable quality. I recommend 100% to Beretta APX whether in 9mm or .40 S&W

Lol in USA guns is very chipper, Guns is 400-500-600 dollars similar like Glock. But in Europe the Beretta APX i paid 800 euros (900$) and Glock 19 gen 5 700 euros (close to 800$). A think its the same quality, but APX definitely better than Glock, for me personally...

This is my first gun. I finally signed up to a basic handgun course and let loose. I've only run about 130 rounds through it so far. I've had 1 failure, a double feed that was due to ammunition, not the gun as the spent casing flared a bit too much and jammed just enough so the extractor couldn't pull it out. All I can say is I'm glad that happened during course and not on my own as I likely wouldn't have known how to deal with it, other than to try to seek help. From the point of view of a novice, this gun is fantastic. It is easy to hold, easy sight capture. The recoil isn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. I was fully expecting a long trigger pull as in a double action pistol. I was so surprised by the short, crisp pull that I mashed the trigger for the first magazine, sending bullets in a very wide pattern. At least I still hit the paper, I guess. It is accurate. Once I relaxed and actually had a proper grip, I was able to place 17 out of 20 shots (two magazines worth) inside a 3 inch circle. (I know that isn't "great", but considering I've never fired a gun before in my life, I think that's pretty good) Once I pushed the trigger as I squeezed so it went left, the other two I didn't take the time for a proper sight picture so all three were my fault. Cleaning is a breeze as well. I don't use a cleaning kit, just q-tips, patches, and the cleaning rod that came with the gun, along with some clp. As a first gun for a very novice shooter, I really recommend the Beretta APX.

I know you think the Beretta and the MP 2.0 are light recoiling flat shooting... try a CZ 75 Shadow 2 or a Sig P320 Legion. Those are flat shooting light recoiling guns the Beretta and the Smith & Wesson are fine guns I know I own them both but they don't even come close to my CZ or sig for low muzzle ride and actual felt recoil. And I know it's a personal preference but the grip angle and the trapezoid sights on the Steyr were terrible for me, I couldn't get rid of it fast enough.

Hi I have one and common problem not just mine from many people who owned one, the extrator keep popping out. Beretta is aware about the problem but from what the company report they may not do an overhaul fix on the issue, due to the fact it will cost alot of $ and they don't want to do a re-design since it would be cost efficient since it is not a popular seller.

I had an APX compact and really enjoyed it. Grip ergos are awesome, but I was never really comfortable with it due to the short time I had it. Camparing it to my P320 Subcompact, it made the P320 look small. The slide is just big in general. Recoil impulse is very soft, but not as soft as my M2.0 compact. Taking the FCG out was not horrible, but not as easy at all as the P320. Complete slide dissasembly is way more complicated that the P320. As for the trigger I found it interesting. Very short take up and reset, but it just felt really mechanical to me. In the end I let the APX go. Great gun, but just not for me.

Good review. I've got Glocks, CZP10 series and the APX--and I'm looking to add a Steyr to my collection thanks in large measure to your reviews. On balance, the APX is my favorite. The CZ has a slightly better trigger in my book, but the Beretta wins out--for me anyways--thanks to its excellent ergos. Best feeling gun sf polymer that I've shot; fits perfectly in my hand and points more naturally than its competitors--save perhaps the M&P. But the APX trigger is vastly superior to the S&W. Highly recommend. Very underrated.

I am by no means an expert on shooting, grip position, or ammunition, ect. But I did buy a trigger pull gauge, mine was 5.675 before and after 600 rounds. At 20yrds, my grouping was from the 9 to the center, with a few 8's. I can't wait to shoot again. Pretty sure Beretta has announced a 45 version will follow soon. (believe they showed one at this years SHOT)That said I've yet to run across a 40 version. Which is what I would be most interested in. I'm just sorta burnt out on 9mm right now. Now if you forgo the whole "I think its uglier than sin," thing. I'd be open to getting one if the slide didn't have that infernal pin that pops up. The older I and my eyes get the more I lean towards getting red dots on my handguns. But that pin mucks it up and makes the APX a no go. Good review 17. Thumbs up bro. BTW I didn't care for the shooting portion at the beginning. So leaped forward to the table top. :p

I'm just not a fan of that at the indoor range. On an open range where you can shift angles and distance, I find it more enjoyable. As for the pin. That's the first I heard of it. I called Beretta Thursday to inquire about a few things between the APX and my Nano . The CS Rep I got was a douche. I was repeatedly told that's how it's designed and that information is proprietary. Called back an hour later. Got what sounded like a 15y/o school girl. She was nicer. But still got. That's how its designed and that information is proprietary. The weight of a recoil spring is propietary?!?!

Just got the Beretta APX. After trying my friend's against a Canik (16rnd I think), a S&W SD9VE, Glock 17, and S&W M&P Compact recently at the range I discovered the APX had the least felt recoil. The felt recoil was even less than what I carry everyday - the S&W Shield 9mm with which I can get good shot groups. Easy to shoot and to rack the slide. 👍

I just bought one of the full-size APXs and am just waiting to pick it up. From the few times I manipulated the trigger in-store, it felt "very" slightly heavy, but a gentleman standing beside me stated that his trigger smoothed out a little after a few hundred rounds, and actually improved in its overall feel. I'm hopeful since I figure that any sidearm that gets as far into the modular handgun contest as it did, has to be a good buy at $329. On top of that, Sportsman's Warehouse holds back on store ammo for gun buyers so that they at least have some fun after buying a new blaster. Gotta love that policy.

1776 or Bust I don't think it does. There's another gun channel that tested it and the presenters said something that made me feel like it was a sales pitch more than anything else.

I don't think it's a sales pitch necessarily I think the guns that I have them in already or more efficient than without them for example the Steyr M9 that I run with has been absolutely Unstoppable and I think it has to do with the consistent slide action however good news I will be receiving one for the apx very soon

@@1776orbust I'm looking forward to your review of it. They basically said that they didn't like the gun until they installed the DPM guide rod. I've used them enough to know they don't transform a gun like that. I have one in my Steyr as well, and it works great. I can't say that it worked miracles for it though.
@1776orbust
@1776orbust 6 жыл бұрын
Q. Lawrence yeah I agree it really is more for larger calibers the only thing I've noticed is the slide action seems to be faster due to the compression of the spring which I think makes it more efficient

I just picked up the APX full size. My store I went to only had that one and the carry. Carry is to small for me. I also have a HK P30L. 150 rounds white box no problem great trigger and recoil is so minimal. I used to have a 92fs which was awesome

Greg Brown gun manufacturers have make models that SELL... Glocks/strikerfire sell so make your version of the top seller... Apx, shield, hi point and ruger all looks like your Glocks... beretta designed the PX4 and Cougars/Stoeger that sold well, so what was the purpose of a square slide, striker pistol when a company has a proven record of da/sa and DOA pistol .... make a Glock copy... they sell

I had some money to blow so went to my LGS and wanted something in 9mm......had them pull out a S&W M&P , Apex, and although not stryker a CZ75Bd......didnt care for the trigger on M&P and Apex felt too bulky so I went wit CZ75 Bd and try happy with it. Good job on the video

Stupid question....is that the safety plunger that pushes up out of the slide when you press the trigger? Interesting design.
@MatteoSixSeventyFour

Yes, that's a portion of the firing pin block that protrudes up. I find it a ridiculous design. Can't mount a red dot when a pin pops up.

@MatteoSixSeventyFour 6 жыл бұрын
Ryan Green As eyes age focusing on an iron front sight might not be as easy as it once was. Also for all the reasons a red dot is beneficial on a rifle. The same applies to a pistol. Personally, I see the whole industry moving towards pistols being optics ready from the factory.

Interesting slide/plunger design. With it protruding up when the trigger is pulled makes it impossible to have the slide milled and a RMR installed.
@1776orbust
@1776orbust 6 жыл бұрын
There will be an apx coming out that already has it milled on it also from what I've read on a form you can actually reduce the size of the plunger so it doesn't protrude out and then mil it
@WylieGuns1776
@WylieGuns1776 6 жыл бұрын
I was thinking you might be able to mill out the plate to accommodate this. You would think they would design around these popular additions. Other than that love the gun and color. Great review as usual.
