This was a very nice comparison, very fair and unbiased. Thank you. Here is my 2 cents. I own both and APX and a few P320's. They are both fine pistols and each will get the job done well. There are a few diverging differences that are worth mentioning. The P320 chassis is much easier to remove, hands down. But the more difficult to remove Beretta chassis is a much simpler and robust chassis. The Beretta has more features than the Sig, but the removal of the chassis overshadows those features. The Beretta is lighter, has a better grip with less expensive changes to said grip. If you have small hands, you have to look for a small frame Sig and if it is not available, you'll have to buy the small frame and replace the available grip size you could find. The Beretta sits much lower in one's grip and this helps with recoil and follow up shots. The Sig sits higher and produces a bit more rise. The Beretta has a very nice chamber as compared to the Sig. Take a look at both and you will see what I mean. Once you shoot both pistols you will see home much better the Beretta feels. Just my 2 cents.

It was all down to feel for me in the hand as far as the major difference between the two and both shot great. I own a Sig P220 Legion, Sig P225A1 and Sig Super Target 1911, so there is no Beretta bias involved. I enjoy non biased reviews and I feel so many reviewers and viewers use confirmation bias when picking out firearms. Great review, thank you. I don't care what anyone says, the Sig trigger is CRAP, it feels like it is broken. The Sig had reliability issues, MAJOR PROBLEM!!!, where the Beretta was flawless. I do not get why everyone is getting so exited over the P320 when there are so many better striker-fired, poly 9mm pistols out there for the same money. Don't get me wrong, Sig can make a great pistol (i.e.. P226, P229, P210 etc) but when it comes to cheap poly pistols (i.e. P250, P2022, P320) ugh! Folks, don't buy into the hype, get the APX or Glock or S&W M&P 9 M2.0 or S.A. XD Mod2 or many others as they are just better pistols.

Brought my P320 to the range on three different occasions and each time it would give me an FTE. Had to rip out the mag and rack out the rounds that were jamming. Terrible malfunction for a gun I had bought brand new only months prior. Sometimes was happening multiple times per mag, and at least a dozen times per range visit. Was extremely disappointed in it, sold it, bought an FNS which I have been much more pleased with. But anyway I'm looking at the APX since the price has dropped on them.

While I do prefer the Beretta APX from my time on the range with both guns, I'm going to purchase the Sig P320 due to the wide array of accessories and attachments available for the P320. Most gun stores I visited don't carry the Beretta APX or many of their accessories. If you're not going to make many modifications to your pistol, the APX would be a great choice. I notice that many websites are selling it much cheaper than the P320 as well. However for me, I'm going with the Sig P320 (leaning towards the X-carry). Everything available for the P320 currently and longterm outweighs APX being a slightly better pistol.
@mag3187 жыл бұрын
I own both pistols and like them both. That said if I could own only one it would be the APX. IMO the APX is more ergonomic and has a slightly better trigger. Removing the fire control group is slightly more complicated but how many times are you going to do so. Good video, I just subscribed.

if you remove the chassis on the Apx and compare it to the P320 Apx is a much more simplistic chassis than the 320. I prefer the Apx all day over the 320 for numerous reasons. The advantages to the 320 is all the aftermarket support. Beretta is a strong manufacturer in the industry and for their first striker fired pistol they knocked it out the park. Where they failed was in marketing. If they marketed better it would’ve been more popular
@mag3184 жыл бұрын
@@frontlinepfknr I couldn't agree with you more and IMO the APX is just a better pistol.
@JacksonWalter7354 жыл бұрын
@@frontlinepfknr precisely. With Beretta's special pricing, the Beretta APX, APX Compact, and APX Centurion could be found for $300-340 before the pandemic (at least $350 now with the demand). That is a phenomenal deal for a premium gun like the APX with so many features and it's even cheaper than the popular M&P lineup which is known for their great deals with rebates. The problem here is that Beretta never marketed the APX with their special pricing. They had a winner on their hand at an affordable price and did nothing with it. After the pandemic when the APX lineup was being sold out everywhere, Beretta simply can't keep up with the demand while other manufacturers like CZ, Sig, Glock, Smith and Wesson, and so forth are constantly supplying gun stores when their guns are sold out. It's just frustrating to see Beretta squander the APX. It has one of the better stock triggers, a low bore axis (compared to something like a Sig P320, Walther PPQ, HK VP9), a slide that is easy to rack, and it's modular. People complain about the longer process to take out the trigger module and putting it in a different chassis, but it's more secure inside the chassis and doesn't move. You can still wiggle the trigger group in the P320 after putting it into the chassis. Once you know how to take apart the APX trigger module, you can easily insert it into a different APX chassis in around 3-5 minutes. You can also buy a competition firing pin spring assembly for the APX directly from Beretta's website for $15 as well. It installs in minutes, takes off almost half a pound from the trigger pull, and gives you a slightly better trigger reset as well. I still find it safe to carry and it makes the APX shoot so much better.

My APX runs really good. Excellent accuracy and reliability, and very natural for me to manipulate. Wife has short fingers, and had an issue with the trigger reach of the Sig P320. Using the small grip insert of the APX, trigger reach was just perfect. Took a while to make up my mind what color frame I wanted for an accessory, ended up going with the olive drab, very satisfied with that decision. The slide serrations do not catch on the holster or clothing for me. And it's very convenient and quick to just be able to grab the slide anywhere and get a good purchase. 1 thing I don't like about Sig is they used the same design as their hammer guns. So the P320 has a much higher distance from top of grip to bore than native striker designs from just about everyone else (Glock, M&P, etc). That is just pure laziness and it has a noticeable effect on recoil control when you get to high performance / competitions.
@I_Might_B_Wrong7 жыл бұрын
I'm pretty sure Beretta submitted their design. If I had to guess, the military likely preferred the SIG because it can accept an RMR since there's no protruding safety pin in the top of the slide and because the design is a bit simpler, for example the swapping of a frame with only pulling out the takedown lever. These are also the main reasons I just bought a P320 over a Beretta APX since my LGS had both. That said, I really like the APX grip and trigger so I might end up with one also...

I've looked at both of these new style pistols. For ease of changing the polymer frame, the Sig is the hands down winner. The Beretta is more involved but is quite manageable. That being said, the Beretta will have a more useful life. The Sig will eventually encounter failures because of that ease of interchangeability. The Beretta's firing group is more securely fastened than the Sig. Also, the Beretta's slides are more substantial than the four small tabs of the Sig's. Time will tell if the Sig can go the distance in very tough circumstances, not the least of which will be hamfisted soldiers.

Yeah, and take a look at the price of the X-change kit for the P320! It's about $500. Yes, you get virtually everything, but not the FCU. I had two of the Sigs in 9mm, but with different size frames. All sorts of issue with failure to fire and failure to reset. Thus, both were sold. I readily admit that I've not tried the Beretta, but have heard that the trigger reset is very, very short and quick. For the price, it is on my list.

Late for comment but, the APX is the most underrated striker fire pistol. I wouldn't trade my APX for absolutely nothing on the market today, much less a P320, which by the way SIG had to settle lawsuit against the 320. Sig is an excellent brand, but the fact is that the P320 is a P250 reworked, don't give me much trust, the APX is a new complete design. Hope not to offend Sig fans, not my intention, just my personal opinion.

the 320 is about the only polymer pistol I'm not familiar with. looking closely at the Beretta u will see that they designed this pistol to be very reliable. it has a huge feed ramp and the beveled chamber is the most aggressive I have ever seen. trigger on mine is just above average when compared to current offerings. accuracy however is not impressive with my example. nonetheless it's an excellent pistol, it's one that will definitely end up with a good track record.right off the bat u can just feel u can trust it with your life, and I expect it to easily compete with the big dogs. oh and the slide serations will grow on U, they work better than any pistol out there. my 2 cents.

Both look great. Sig looks easier to maintain. Thx for the video!

The P320 Carry Model will give you 17 rounds as well as the full size

Used to own the P320 years ago, didn't care for the trigger. Maybe it was just my unit, or they may have improved on it.

I love the 320 but the apx is getting to much hate. For a budget priced firearm from a reputable manufacturer great option for a first time owner or someone on a budget.

The apx may very well be the best handgun ever made.

Ha! Being an ex-Hoosier I must say you might practice on how to pronounce ambidextrous. It's am·bi·dex·trous rather than am-bi-dex-tri-ous. But otherwise nice comparison though I'd add something about the bore axis (not borax). Also something about the guide rails between the two. Cheers :-)

A mag release that is movable from left to right side of the pistol, is 'swappable' not ambidextreeeous.

Your comparison makes no sense at all. Why would you try to compare the compact version of the Sig Sauer P320 instead of the full size with longer barrel and 17 round magazines? I have 21 round magazine in mine fires great any kind of ammo I feed it!

What is it with people who say stuff like this: "Here on top we do have our instruction information"? The correct purpose of that "do" is to emphasize the fact that there's instruction information, e.g. in response to someone saying you don't have it. If you're not doing that, you don't say the do; you leave it out. You just say, "Here on top we have our instruction information", because it's new info for the listener and it's not disputed. What's the deal with people not knowing how to speak properly?!

I really like the APX, plus its cost is far far less than the SIG, but what were they thinking creating such an incredibly difficult design of removing the core trigger casing? This competed for the Military, can you see GI's in a ditch with a jammed gun, needing tools and taking forever to completely disassemble and clean while being under attack. Did that complication offer any benefit or was someone on a long sick leave on the design team?
