As long as you use silicone base and not petroleum. I have been dieseling for years and have yet to break a cheap or expensive rifle. Both Nitro Piston and Spring loaded. They are disclaimers from the manufacturer to prevent people from doing it. They make you think you'll break the seals. Please only use silicone oil guys.

There are all these reviews and other information on YT I say to myself, that has to be all the info anybody could ever want about the science of airpower, but, then theres you, wow you dig deep and find the info we all need to learn. How do you do it? Just keep doing it!

I shoot JSB Hades almost exclusively in a fouled barrel going on 500+ rounds in my Air Venturi Avenger .22. It went from 0.35" groups @ 25y to 0.215" at the same distance after the several hundred rounds. The only cleaning I do is shoot cleaning cotton pellets through it every now and and again. As long as it shoots this accurate, I never plan on cleaning it or lubing pellets. But if it works for you, go for it. Each gun has it's preferences. "If it aint broke, don't fix it" 😉

While I’m messing around in the shop and I come across my pellets, I give them a shot of Dry Lubricant. I hope that gives them some faster FPS without gumming up the barrel as oils do. And I use dry lubes in a lot of other areas.

Use an old wiper fluid container with a square cut out below the handle. Pour in a tin of pellets and 20:1 gas to synthetic 2 stroke oil. Tilt back and forth and then tack off the cap and pour out the gas into a gas container. Now pour out the pellets on some paper towels and let them sit in the sun. This is better than just putting straight oil in the tin and now you have super clean pellets. 👌

Ken in ohio here. good informative video. that said other than shooting countless red ryders, crosman 760's and daisy 880's, i cant really speak on the mechanics of air gunning, but i did recently make what i consider to be a big step up and got my first break barrel nitro piston air rifle. a refurbished benjamin .22 cal prowler. now at the age of 61 i want to take good care of it and make it last. that said lately, ive seen alot of videos on dieseling such air rifles. i take from them it involves applying certain kinds of grease and or oil to the cup of the pellet greatly increasing the pressure behind the pellet and expelling it from the barrel with a much higher velocity. the drawback is a much shorter life span of the internals of the rifle because it simply wasnt built to withstand the extra pressure. so my question to you is wouldnt too much lube create conditions similar to that of deiseling and possibly damaging the rifle?
@tabvalentino2 жыл бұрын
No Ken not as long as you use silicone base and not petroleum. I have been dieseling for years and have yet to break a cheap or expensive rifle. Both Nitro Piston and Spring loaded. Thanks James for the Great information. Do you make those pellet sorters with multiple head sizes on one sorter sheet. I noticed some manufacturers sell pellets in head sizes from 5.48, 5.49, 5.50, 5.51, 5.52, 5.53, 5.54, 5.55. How many sizes does your sorter measure?

HEY MAN! I KNOW THIS VID IS A YEAR AND A HALF OLD BUT DAMN! IN THE START OF THE VID YOU USE TO CALL OUT CROSMAN PELLETS, STATING THAT ALL THERE. PELLETS ARE CLAIMED TO BE LUBED WITH GRAPHITE AND SAID IT WAS TRUE DO TO THE FACT OF LACK OF GRAPHITE RESIDUE IN THE CANS OF PELLETS. HOWEVER ONCE I HEARD THIS I IMMEDIATELY. PROCEEDED TO EXAMINE EACH CAN INDIVIDUALLY. 4 TOTAL. CHECKED AND "EVERY" CAN I DIPPED MY FINGERS IN THE GRAB PELLETS TO LOAD MY FINGER TIPS HAD SO MUCH RESIDUE THAT THEY WERE COMPLETELY COVERED WITH "GRAPHITE" RESIDUE! CAN OF CROSMAN AMNO

Try dieseling where you put a dab of vazoline or Vicks salve in the cavity behind pellet. Increases the velocity a great bit. Because it's patroleum based the air pressure fires it off like diesel gets fired off in a diesel motor.
@saito1253 жыл бұрын
It also ruins the barrel. Great tip.

Head size would be a factor if the barrel is not Chocked If it is than aren't all the Skirts forced to the same size Weight is also a major factor even with JSBs the variation within a tin can be substantial
@STKO20115 жыл бұрын
Headsize centers pellet best from the chamber end, skirt seals...even if there is a choke at the opposite end of the barrel
@tyrantwitness24823 жыл бұрын
JSB pellets ! Forget what head size on the tin ! Get a pellet gauge and you’ll soon learn the size on the sticker means nothing and JSB never reply to complaints !
