Hey Greg, ever consider making a tropical line of candy canes? I like the idea of a juxtaposition of the classic Christmas shape with tropical flavors. I'd go like...mango-pineapple, banana-orange, and something like a jackfruit, or maybe a tropical fruit punch. This works especially well considering your location in Florida...I think tourists would (literally) eat up this concept.

@sarahbezold20082 жыл бұрын
what happens if you leave the candy on the pulling machine running until it cools? does it snap? turn to a dust?
@LoftyPursuits2 жыл бұрын
Several different things. It depends on how long you put it on. Since air is being folded in in the air is cooler than the candy. It can get to the point where it's just too cool to use anymore and it hardens and it'sa perfectly good. Big lump of candy that's useless If it stays hot and you get too much air in it, it becomes too fragile to work with and the candy sort of crumbles and crushes. It's easier to pull it too much on the machine than it is by hand
@sarahbezold20082 жыл бұрын
@@LoftyPursuits if you have straight sugar that gets pulled too much in either of those ways, can it be reused? If so, would that be by melting it down or dissolving it in water first?
@LoftyPursuits2 жыл бұрын
Theoretically yes, you'd have to grind it very fine first. But if you added acid, the answer is no. Acid burns at a lower temperature than the candy needs to be heated at. That's why we add it later in the process
