I look forward to all of your videos. I really appreciate the way you take pride in your work and do things correctly without cutting corners. As I mentioned before, I've been a mason for 30 years and have built countless fireplaces, it honestly makes my day to see a fellow mason that holds true to the craft and does things right. It's sad how so many others in this trade hack!! It has always been important to me to do things correctly and up to code, props to you for doing the same Chad

Enjoying the child labor mixed with casket confined working conditions. You might have to create a few custom brushes to service those catacombs 😂. Nonetheless, great work! Love restoration projects like this.

I prefer “chamber safe” over the formula 51, and I’ve been around long enough to remember green patch and chamber tech 😂

What mortar do you use for parging? I have a small cape cod with a beehive oven and two fireplaces I am looking to repair.

Love your videos, really educational. What do you think of HeatShield made by saver systems?
@chadvaillancourt5 ай бұрын
Thanks! Honestly, I'm not sure. I would have to see it first hand to know if I liked it or not. My instincts say it's not a good idea. I did call and talk to some of the people from Saver Systems before starting this job, and they seemed to agree it was not a good candidate for this job.
@JoshuaSHogg5 ай бұрын
@@chadvaillancourt it’s less tacky than 51. Made by the same company, SaverSystems. It is listed as a flue resurfacer, when dried super strong. For parging, probably not as ideal.

The hog happened because one guy had a brick spacing Rule an one guy had a modular spacing Rule 😂 j/k by the way cause I’m sure someone smarter then me will think I’m serious lol if someone calls a clip or half in the middle of the wall a hog there clearly not a bricklayer 🤦🏻
@chadvaillancourt5 ай бұрын
I've seen it happen firsthand with one guy using a modular rule and the other guy using a standard spacing rule. Communication is key. When you tell the new guy to go build a lead on sixes, make sure you're using the same rule. 😂
