Wow you just completely almost made that look like picking a master lock. Great video as always bill. Thank You!!!!
@SebastianDiPalmaVampyre4 жыл бұрын
The top pins are actually standard for a 7/8" body, cam locks, padlocks, key switches have a smaller body than a mortise, rim and/or cylinder unit; hence, the shorter top pins.

Maybe you can turn autofocus off on your camera to stop it from focusing on your hand when you’re picking.

Well bill, youre a lot braver than me. Last time I gutted a multilock pip, everything flew out and I lost some of the driver inners. Good job picking it. You made it look easy (it would have taken me at least an hour!!). Once you've picked it, the inner keypins flop about and get stuck in any grooves or cuttouts in the Bible. Probably why it kept getting stuck when you were pushing your follower through.

Update, I just opened that S.O.B up!! Mul-T-Lock Junior (American 700 series style) 5 pin-in-pin... OK, I know its not a huge deal, but its the first challenging dimple lock I've opened, and the wife isn't home to brag to (she wouldn't care either) so I wanted to share with the Tribe! 👍🏻

Is it just the point-of-view messing with me or didn't you 100% prevent the clip coming off with the clip-off-comer tool by placing your thumb on the clip?
@Porygon94 жыл бұрын
Bill you need to get a dlsr camera and learn to use manual focus your thumbs in the way!!
@parapicktog77344 жыл бұрын
You seem a bit off today Bill. Not only fumbling the core and getting 2 stacks mixed up, but the camera kept focusing on your thumb instead of the lock (I cleaned my glasses twice before I realised it was the camera focus. LOL). What are those 3 holes on the side? And what was it hanging up on when you were trying to extract the plug?

Hi Bill, love your videos. How about picking some rusty locks? You know, the ones that barely open with an original key? Is that something that would be even doable?
@cheyannei59834 жыл бұрын
He does, but picking generally relies on the smooth action of the lock... WD-40 helps.
@SuperDrobny4 жыл бұрын

Yes Mul T locks are among the best.
@seriousmaran94144 жыл бұрын
The chances are you will be against a thief with little knowledge of how locks work. Then they actually have to know how to pick them open, have equipment with them. Overall though a lock is a deterrent, something that will persuade a thief to go elsewhere. If someone is determined enough and has the time they will get in. Also remember that security is linked to the weakest point. That is often climbing over gates or fences, breaking windows. I have seen a thief go through a thin wood wall - they then decided that there wasn't anything worth stealing.
@trespire4 жыл бұрын
@Chodda Mul T lock is or was an Israeli company. Here in Israel these are very common and could be considered good quality for the price. There are locks with 5, 6 and 7 dimple pins, some have drill resistant cores, depends on ones budget. Select one with extream high low pinning, you should be well sorted for home or buisness.

@thalivenom49724 жыл бұрын
destructive force is more common. keep in mind too, that despite his humility, bill is very skilled, and extremely practiced, something most criminals are not. if they had that level of discipline, theyd likely not be criminals.
@filanfyretracker4 жыл бұрын
because picking a lock takes time, Something that is well secured will cause most criminals to move on because the easiest means of entry is brute force. However brute force makes noise. Noise alerts people who could call the police, An armed property owner or both. Now that said if you have something someone REALLY wants they will get it. All security physical and network is built on the low hanging fruit principle. the idea is to make your fruit hang high enough its not worth the time, How high depends on what is being secured. If you have a shipping container full of flat screen TVs, its probably worth that Squire 100CS that Bill and LPL needed multiple shots from a .50cal to break. If its a wooden shed with a lawn mower from Home Depot, You can probably skip the Squire.
