Welcome to Dickinson's Real Deal. Dickinson: the flamboyant antique expert helps the public make the most money from their old antiques. Are today's guests about to produce big windfalls or big busts? Find out!
The challenge is how to get the best deal. Contestants meet the dealers who offer cash for an item. The seller must decide whether to accept the guaranteed money or risk fortune or failure in the auction room. Of course, placing one's trust in a positive auction outcome is a gamble in itself! Will they make the right choice?

Re: cleaning the silver spoons. Lay a sheet of foil in the sink. Place spoons o the foil. Sprinkle with baking soda. Lace boiling water over. Wipe with soft silver cloth. Takes just a few minutes.

Sadly the money the last lady got won’t go far, my grandparents were in a home in Scotland for the last few years of their lives and it was costing 6 grand a month for both of them.

@@martinisherwood2854 I took care of my mother for five years with the help of Ebide (an end of life organization) and an organization called Friends of the Family. The average cost was about $12,500 a year. The downside was that I had no freedom. It was hard to get my hair done, I gave up manicures, had to sell my home to move in with her, at times had to even had to find someone walk the dog. The minister visited her regularly. However, Mom almost made it to her 101st birthday and did it in comfort in her own home. IfI had to do it again I would.

Only six grand? Here in the states, you will pay cheap at 12 to 14, high end 22 or more. Only the very rich can afford long term care. So many seniors with no income and children that do not care for their aging relatives. Very sad world

its funny but those spoons American sterling silver is 925 not 800 sliver as the dealer said that man know's nothing about American silver. He would say that my 10k gold ring is 9k gold wow

800 silver refers to the purity’ when they are not stamped 925 and the hallmark dates to 800 purity
