Cheers! I think those views took my mind off thinking about the golf and allowed me to play well! Super course though 👍

I think I was fortunate when I played in that the rough wasn't quite as deep as I feared it might be. Really loved it here and the views are very special indeed. I can see why folks come back again and again. I'll certainly be returning 👍😍

Thank you - although I'm more about enjoying the courses than shooting low! Playing the game for 35 years helps keep the score respectable I guess 😂 Don't worry about score pressures, it'll all come in time. Practice your short game, think your way around the course and don't try those miracle shots - keep the ball in play. Play percentage golf and you'll be shooting sub 100 sooner than you think! Good luck 🤞

Great video, I've never had the chance to play here but have walked the course a few times when my lad has been playing junior events, superb course with wonderful views. I will play it one day, just not if it's windy :)

Thank you! I waited for "that morning" and so glad I did for the experience I got. I must try and get back to Cleeve Hill on the same kind of day. Make sure you treat yourself to a round here at Stinchcombe Hill - get your lad to caddy for you!!

Greens and bunkers are superb there. I like the course, used to play it frequently. Rough generally gets deeper and more impossible as the season goes on. You can spread it in March as much as you like but come August its a tougher track. Probably the best viewing course in Gloucestershire. My only gripe with it that the holes are pretty much the same. Straight long to medium to long par 4s surround by long grass. Have you played Cotswold Edge?

I think it had been recently cut back when I played so quite thankful for that! I'd agree with you on the views. Stinchcombe Hill and Cleeve Hill are both right up there, literally! I enjoyed the holes and didn't find them too samey. Yes, there's several longish par 4's but I guess the firm ground helped out in that respect (and also the lack of punitive rough). Yes I've played Cotswold Edge, same day I played Thornbury and really liked it there. Another one I'll get round to editing in time...

@CeeegeT ow I doubt CE played well after the rain. Glad you like it there. It's my personal favourite in the area. Although I learnt to hit a golf ball at Thornbury, I learned course management at Cotswold Edge. You're doing really well with these videos . They're very enjoyable to watch.

It wasn't too bad tbh. A couple of the holes were a little damp but overall it played very nicely. Loved the little Amen Corner bit! Glad you're enjoying them. I really like this Stinchcombe Hill one. I'm a sucker for good views and blue skies 😉

Beautiful course and you played fantastic, treated greens are always a bit of a lottery. How do you always find the sunshine? Where I live in west Wales it seems to rain 365 of the 365 days of the year😂 brilliant vid👍🏌️🍺

Thank you! It really is a cracker in a super location. I was certainly lucky with the weather and not working that day! I know all about West Wales weather so empathise with you there although we didn't have the greatest of summers. Fingers crossed for a better one next year and more lovely courses to explore 🤞

I live in a similar area to you. I would be interested to know what are your top 3 courses out of your videos so far??
@CJsGolf18 күн бұрын
It's really hard to grade them, as it's the experience as well as the course itself. I've had a bit of a think and could make a favourite 10 but this is only an alphabetical list!!! They are all good! Church Stretton, Cleeve Hill, Cradoc, Kington, Llandrindod Wells, Pontypool, Rhondda, Stinchcombe Hill, The Bristol & West Monmouthshire. (As you can see, I seem to like courses with good views!!)

The putt on the first was a Lance Armstrong. One ball short.

It's just outside a town called Dursley in Gloucestershire which is about 10 miles north of Bristol. Pretty easy to get to and well worth the visit 👍❤
