Eek, it costs that much to get stuff here? (I'm in Melbourne)😬 I don't really use much makeup anymore - and I'm of the generation that grew up without the internet and so you'd have to physically go to a store and get something (and spend a fortune there!) However, you got to see it and try it. I can't imagine buying makeup online (unless it was something I was buying again, and already tried it). I see so many people review makeup online and the colour isn't right or something isn't what they wanted because they only had a photo (that is probably edited to look better) and what the brand writes in their description 🤷🏻‍♀️ I imagine a lot of people getting stuck with things they can't use/don't like just because of the inconvenience of returning something, or only having email communication. Sorry to ramble on, but just wanted to explain how it's kind of alien to an old fart like me!😊😄

Admittedly, I was waiting for you to review Melt's holiday release. I thought the two palettes looked so fun together and it's a shame you didn't have the time to do a good ol' one look with each palette and one with both of them combined. But I understand as one person with one pair of eyes you can only review so much during the holidays. I've heard from other creators that the quality of these were great, definitely better than Electrip.

I couldn't care less about any of these! The cherry chic one looks like it has 8 shades that would all look similar to the same on the eyes. The one I really wanted you to review was one of the big Huda palettes and I'm so happy you did!

Owning the Colourpop Stone Cold Fox palette has saved me so much money this year! Enjoyment of reviews and the impulse-buy-fairy could have got me to buy at least the Natasha Denona I Need A Nude palette, Makeup by Mario Ethereal Eyes, Patrick Ta Major Dimension 3 and another Colourpop one, the 11:11 palette -- as they look beautiful and I always think the formula might be *just* a bit better. But THIS year I kept remembering I had the Stone Cold Fox palette. At the end of the day, the look on my eyes with my level of makeup skill would be pretty much the same, I'm really happy with the formula, so I held back and thought "Yeah they're beautiful, but I'm good for now". 😄

as someone who owns daytime realness, the laganga pallet and some of the blush trios i can guarantee youll LOVE the formula - very blendable but high impact, only thing i personally find is that they are so high impact that they dont always lay on top of eachother the best, but the blush singles they now do are also a really good way to get into the brand !! love ur videos as always ty for keeping the vibes in the beauty community so positive

@@Observette ah im not sure! i find the shimmers on the laganga are okay, i always use a glitter primer with them and my finger and they get a lot more vibrant but deffo daytime realness felt like a new formula, less pressed than the laganga is the only way i could describe it - kinda more powdery to the touch? fallout with that one isnt bad though considering its a blue pallette haha

The thing that irritates the crap out of me about Trixie Cosmetics is that they release a very small number of palettes when they do a release. If you’re not on the website the minute they go live you’re likely to miss out. It’s a really weird way to do business.

The Christmas Town was a great palette! I think those are the best shimmers melt has ever released and they have a new topper formula and it’s so pretty! The mattes were really blendable and rich. I do think the color story is a bit limiting. I’m a little bummed you didn’t get it because I would have loved to see it compared to Recently Deceased and The Waiting Room, Christmas town looks like the two combined.

i actually got the sailor moon palette and highlighter and i think you would've liked some shades from it - there's a beautiful light pastel that you like to use on your inner corners. i personally quite liked it, but, tbh, wouldn't have bought if it wasn't for sailior moon theming. got a pretty look out of it thought! and that blue in the corner is stunning. highlighter, on the other hand, i didn't like - to me it feels chalky and maybe hard-pressed, definitely not worth it, in my opinion.

I LOVE the BeautyBay palettes! I have the new Rich one and the nude and neutral palettes - they are incredible quality for such a low price. My favorite 2023 palette purchase has to be the Danessa Myricks one, because it’s SO different. I had to watch videos on how to use it, but once you get the hang of it, it’s so versatile. It reminds me of the Hindash Beautopsy palette that way.

I actually did buy one of the Sailor Moon 2 from ColourPop items because I was obsessed with SM as a teenager. The very one you mentioned, Angelica - the lighter highlighter, the pinkish one, is themed after my favorite character, Artemis, the white kitty. It is not their best. You are not missing anything. It's nice enough but it's payoff was... just okay. I was hoping for something that would catch the light and have a stronger shift but instead it's just a subtle pink highlight.

For me it happens with a lot of indie palettes, as the shipping to countries outside the US is crazy expensive. One mainstream palette that I initially really wanted was the Fall Romance as ABH has my most favourite formula, however eventually I talked myself out of it... I wouldn't really use those shades at all.

The only palette I've had lingering thoughts over is the Adept Element 115 but another one of your viewers had a bad experience with customer service so I'm not sure. I do have a gap in my palette collection for bright pink shades (which will probably look terrible on me but the heart wants what it wants) so I'm thinking about the Cosmic Brushes Delights Palette which isn't new. I did buy a few new palettes this year so something has to really grab me to think about adding another.

I feel like the Melt holiday releases 1- the color stories just didn’t speak to me personally (even though they were on theme) and 2- as soon as a palette itself is irregularly shaped unfortunately it really brings it down several notches for me because it is such a pain to store.. on top of that I also am not a fan of irregular pan placement and I really prefer a space efficient palette. I think I only watched like 1 or 2 people’s videos with that release.

For me the second Sailormoon collab with Colourpop felt like it was just too much time past from the first one. Sort of the hype was there few years back, but now the world had moved to other things. When I saw Colourpop announcing the second collab I initially thought "huh really, like wasn't this a thing like few years back?". That might be one reason amongst many others, why ppl just didn't vibe with the second collab as well as with the first one.

I don't have any Melt palettes, but I'm a huge Nightmare B4 Xmas fan and was initially very attracted to those palettes. However, I watched a few reviews on them which talked me out of buying them. It didn't look like the colours performed that well and they seemed to be one muddy whatever looks people were doing with them. I'd have to pay import to get them in the UK and I just wasn't excited about them after watching 3 different KZbinrs review them. Thing is the KZbinrs seemed to like them, but from what I could see it felt like, who are you kidding.

I thought you were getting the Halloweentown and Christmastown palettes and was surprised when they were not in your 2023 review. Right now I'm still on the fence about the Dragon Eye palette. I was disappointed by the color story but then get FOMO whenever i see someone making such a pretty look with it. Kudos to you for having the willpower to say no!

As a huge Sailor Moon fan who liked the color story of the new ColourPop palette, I found the actual performance of it to be very… meh. I’ve been impressed by their pastels in the past, but the light shades in this palette barely showed up even on my fair skin. I ended up replacing some of the pans with more pigmented shadows from other CP palettes (while trying to retain the overall vibe) and like it so much more now. You're not missing much, imo. Also, both of the highlighters have a blue shift. I usually like offbeat colors - including other blue highlighters! - but something about these looked so strange on my yellow-leaning skin (the lighter one as a highlighter, the purple as a blush). OTOH, I LOVE the three Trixie palettes I have: Plant Gay, Team Trixie, and Girl Talk. The mattes mostly have immediate impact. (They might be pressed pigments?) The shimmers are nothing special compared to so many indies these days, but they’re perfectly fine if you just want a good shimmer.

Off the top of my head I can say blend bunny has some deeper teals in some of their palettes. A gradient of teals usually as one row. The cosmic brushes winter wonderland I think had some teal influences too. 🩵
