Commentaar/vragen/tips/trucs? Altijd welkom!

you need more protrusions on the plate that's why woodchippers work so well you need more surface area to add blades to weld or cut up another piece of metal somewhat like a blender blade or make the plate into one somehow (like bend it upwards and add more blades/edges to it so it can kick stuff around)

The easiest way I can think of to make this work would be if you made your lid small enough to fit inside. Then overfill it with plastic and use the lid to crush it into the blade. You'd also want a catch on the sides to keep the lid from hitting the blade.

Less spin, more torque, two pairs of blades each with 6 blades. Pairs shoul face each other and operating in vertical position like the commercial shredders. Use gears and bike chains to connect each pair to one motor

Try with one blade up, one blade down, like a Blender.

You need more space between the blades, so the pieces can fall in between and get cut. Bend every other tooth down, and raise the blade up with respect to the can. Otherwise, a pretty decent try.

and to bend them up, this isn't designed for "objects" it needs to have protrusions/blades added to it it's intended to have the item cut against it not kick it around like a disposer

the blade is not sharp and the caps are light so thay just jump around. you could solve this by creating a shearing (scissor) situation by for instance a fixed flange. if you try this i would advice to let the blade spin and than add the caps. abn other direction you could try is a movable lid that has a endstop just befor hitting the blade think off a kitchen machine

Ah yes, i know what you mean, a dado-blade, You see them a lot in video's from the USA, but here in the Netherlands you don't see them, i think they are not even allowed to sell here. (Anyways, i took the entire machine apart some time ago, i did do some plastic melting and might do it again sometime, but i only use bottle caps for them and they appear to be small enough already so i don't need to cut them in smaller pieces. But thank you for the tip/advice!!!

Cool, thank you for your reply, I really appreciate it! I started some other projects, but after those I will continue with the shredder and i will use your tip, so thanks! (apart from that i will probably also try to sharpen the blades a little and will try to make something round (like i did a little with the 3 wooden parts) so the lids will 'always' be in reach of the blades.

@@ShopSDB Not a problem. A smaller aluminium powder milk can might work, to set a smaller gap between the end of the blade and the wall of the cutting chamber. I came from the forum (forgot the name). I cant find any videos on this until I found yours, keep up the good work! Nice workshop btw, its so big I thought it was a hardware store : )

@@haziqariffin6391 Thanks! Yeah, a smaller can might be better, the only problem (but i have the same problem now) is that it is difficult to loosen the blade like this :-) And the shop (it is in our house, a small room) is very nice. Big enough (as long as you clean it up every now and then). The idea was 'stolen' from somebody else and like you said, it was the first time i saw something like this which could be possible to make myself.
