The short escalator is probably taking into consideration for the elderly that have knee problem. The Japanese are very considerate toward their elderly.

I don't remember it that well, but I think "abroad in Japan" went there and said that after that escalator there comes a normal longer staircase. So it really has no meaning at all. ^^

It was said that when the building was constructed it didn't go perfectly as planned in the blue prints, that escalator was supposed to be normal size, but they built it anyway as a novelty.... was not planned as such

If your a singer it totally makes sence. On tour in a hotel room for example. I play the trombone and there is a similar device that you stick into the bell of your horn. It mutes it but you can hear through headphones. I can play in my tiny aparment at midnight with it..

I live in Tokyo and I’ve never seen a chin holder. Also you can say: “Sleeping at work; what a dream come true!” But the Japanese sleep at work because they work from 6:00 to 22:00 - 00:00, so nobody pretends to sleep. Also, the liftmaid thing isn’t true; in big modern buildings in Japan, you can dictate what floor you want to go to!

That's not so weird if you think it's a special kind of mineral water that helps with your diet. Clean water is good for your health anyway. The label says "A health water with bittern, carnitine, and folic acid." I guess the different salts are in there so you can drink more of it, and carnitine seems to be a nutritional supplement, so that seems liable IMO. (One reviewer did hint that it may help your diet in a slightly unpleasant way, if you don't frequently suffer from constipation... I wouldn't buy it.)

Turning train seats - you will see them in most long-distance trains, but you won't necessarily notice they're turnable before trying. A ponytail hole in a motorcycle helmet - yeah, pretty rare. A baby seat in a public bathroom - you can see them if you go to women's bathroom, but likely not in men's. A cafe for lonely hearts - there's so few of them that prolly no. Diagonal crossings - if you go to the bigger cities, chances are you'll see one or two. A tablet holder - who'd use this in public? Sunglasses for dogs - depends on time and weather A "silent" karaoke microphone - definitely used at home only. Slippers only for bathroom - 90% sure you'll see these somewhere, so don't forget to use them and take also them off when you leave the toilet!! A cushion for lying down and working - maybe at home or some very creative workplace, but very unlikely. The owner’s last name instead of a number on the building - 100% sure you'll see this, though you may not notice it at all. A sink over the toilet supply tank - I'd say 60% chance to see one. They're much more common at home, and not everyone uses them. Automated stores - maybe not fully automated, but there's a fair chance you'll run into a small restaurant with a half-automated, ticket-based ordering system. A hotel with a robot dinosaur - 100% chance you won't see this if you don't do research to find the place. :D A napkin that covers your face when you eat burgers - depends if you like to go to burger places. I don't. A transforming tatami - 5% chance you won't see this even if you visit someone's home. An umbrella "parking lot" - 90% chance you'll see one if you just pay attention. These are quite common in libraries and other public places, too. Easy-to-open cans - depends on whether you enjoy drinking from a can, but I'd say 99% chance to see one.

I don't really like how these kinds of videos always make the inventions seem "normal things" in Japan because they're not. As a Japanese living in Japan I've never seen many of them before and I think Japan is not actually like a 'crazy country full of robots' like people on internet imagine....I don't necessarily think the image is wrong but sometimes I feel uncomfortable seeing these 'crazy Japan' things on internet....Excuse my English!
@atsukorichards1675
@atsukorichards1675 5 жыл бұрын
Your English is excellent! And I agree with you from the bottom of your heart. #8 last name on building - we have the house numbers around the front doors as well as the last name. Name stuff called Hyousatsu (表札). And the second picture has it too, but you pointed out the inn's business sign board instead. The lift men - These elevator ladies are almost only in the big department stores and hotels. Don't give them a wrong idea!

Number 6 is not an automatic store. It’s a machine for kids. You put 100 yen in the money slot, turn the handle around and then a toy comes out in a capsule. It’s everywhere in Japan and it keeps little kids happy.

The self karaoke machine is easy to explain. It could be used for practicing before going out as well as people who like to belt out a tune at home, but live in an apartment complex and don't want to disturb their neighbors.

@johannah4770
@johannah4770 5 жыл бұрын
Looks like it's a special kind of mineral water that helps with your diet. The label says "A health water with bittern, carnitine, and folic acid." I guess the different salts are in there so you can drink more of it, and carnitine seems to be a nutritional supplement. (One reviewer did hint that it may help your diet in a slightly unpleasant way, if you don't frequently suffer from constipation... I wouldn't buy it.)

No one can save any culture or language or religion... world is not westernising, it's globalizing. We're moving towards one language(English is collection of words from all languages), one currency( bit coin or dollor), one religion (atheism), & warless world with equality among all genders & race.

How sad, this channel has slowly but steadily started to turn into clickbait and posting exagerated information. Few of these are true, most are ridiculous, many also exist and happen in other counties, not ONLY in Japan like stated with such a big emphasis in the title. This channel used to be very cute and true to its roots. Worst of all, it's happening in most of their videos, guess they're hungry... Hope it changes soon, but until then, unsubscribed.

Please remove the words 'weird' and 'only' from the title. Several of these practical things can easily be found in other Asian countries - Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, Korea - although they may have started in Japan they are certainly not "only' in Japan.

The bathroom slipper thing and sleeping at your work is inaccurate. There are bathroom slippers, but most people don't use them. If you sleep at your work, you'll probably be fired, at the very least, reprimanded. It isn't an acceptable thing to do. You guys should of done more research into this sort of thing.

bts gives me goosebumps- the video literally says, in the title, weird things that only exsist IN JAPAN. I've watched videos of people on youtube who actually live in Korea and Japan, and BOTH have said sleeping on the job is a serious *no*. That if you get caught, like in America where I live, you'll be reprimanded or fired. This is coming from people who actually live in those countries. Search KZbin if you don't believe me.
