Thats not just chessbase india. Its basic chess rules. Its the same with the rule about touching a piece and having to move that piece. It makes sense as well else in classical games you could make it easier for yourself by just looking at the position after the move and then move it back if u dont like it. Could cause a lot of unnessecary confusion.

It's a rule if you make an illegal move or cheat then the opponent wins
@stagna1959Ай бұрын
depends on tournament rules.In rapid it is usually : 1) 1st illegal move = opponent gets one extra minute on his clock and player has to play legal move instead 2) 2nd illegal move = loss I have lost games because of 2 illegal moves, just did no notice my king is in discovered check.But I never argued about it , just shook hands, bad losses happen . Very famous players including Carlsen, Nakamura and Kasparov had in big trouble because touch moves they made. Their usual excuse is : I mumbled "j'adoube," but opponent just did not hear it . But here it was very clear that he did not adjust his piece, he made the move,released the piece, then regretted it and tried to make another move.
