180 BRONZE LED MOTION OUTDOOR SECURITY LIGHT by Defiant

Here I remove an old security light system and replace it with the defiant LED system and control it with my iPad! You can also use a cell phone.
I am installing another one over my workbench in the garage... you simply install it upside down and direct the light path lengthwise over your entire work area... I'll never forget to turn my lights off again :) There are three sensitivity adjustments.

I just installed one myself love it. The only question I have is does the light ever turn off. I know old sensor lights would shut completely off and when there was motion it would kick on.

Yes it turns off, you set the interval with the app that you download to your tablet or phone.

nice review!! love this light i have one for our garage area and i also put two to cover both sides of our home. what a difference this makes! i fould your review after my purchase i was skeptical during purchase but the gentleman at home depot told me the light would do well. and what a big surprise the light was!! thanks for your review. this works well with our night owl system.

Great video, thanks! Is there no need to apply caulking around the base plate to keep moisture out? I've read a lot of reviews saying that their lights filled up with rain water.

Hi Chris, there is a weatherproof foam gasket that does that just fine. I haven't had any leaking problems so far.

The settings remain the same if the power goes off and comes back on...

How does the Motion Sensor deal with Rain and Snow? Can you tell me if after some time if the LED Light covers fade or darken with weather and time?

Yes, mine are still working fine. The lens covers have yellowed a little.

Did you have an issue attaching the light and sensor portion to the base mount with all that wiring sandwiched between the two? I'm having an issue with that center screw threading into the mount for final assembly. Seems to not be long enough to catch the threads because of this.

Yes, I had to take it apart and put all of the wiring and twist caps inside the main box. The housing wasn't deep enough. Sorry I didn't detail that part.

My LED motion sensor light is too bright. Can I cover the light cover with electrical tape to decrease light pollution?

Have you heard of Pebeo paints? They are translucent and may be something you could use? I've never heard of safety lights being too bright, there are some thin tapes out there, I just don't know how they would hold up over time :)

@@FrederickDunn wired mine up and it did not turn on. There is no on switch correct? Or is it Just turning back the power on. I even wired it to an outlet inside to see if it worked with other wiring.

@@timrhorn14 HI Tim, you have to download the app and turn it on with your laptop, but you should wire it through a normal toggle switch when you install it so you can turn the power on or off. Mine are through a wall switch plate, then to the light.
