Leslye Headland is absolutely spot on. Our whole perception of Star Wars has been incredibly off-mark. To think we cherished it as a saga that masterfully wove together elements of myth, complex morality, and the timeless struggle of light against darkness, within an expansive, meticulously crafted universe. How utterly quaint of us! It seems we've been utterly blind to its true essence: an intergalactic teenage fanfiction, brimming with self-insert characters who gallivant across the stars, unburdened by depth or growth. Why bother with the intricate dance of politics, the philosophical ponderings on the nature of power and responsibility, or the nuanced portrayal of humanity (and alien-ity) in all its complexity? Why invest in crafting a story that explores the delicate balances of the Force, when it's much simpler to pen down a universe that caters to the whims of adolescent fantasy? Forget the painstakingly constructed lore, the epic narratives that span generations, and the careful character development that has inspired millions across the globe. No, no, let's just reduce it all to a cosmic-scale teenage diary entry. After all, what value do themes of sacrifice, redemption, and the enduring hope in the face of overwhelming darkness have, when you can have your very own cosmic soap opera? Bravo, Leslye. Bravo.

There can be fires in space but they don't look anything like the campfire we got in Acolyte Ep 1. Seriously, a 2 minute Google search could have told them that. Lazy lazy writing.

@JustinVillemureАй бұрын
@@majacelejewska3333 I don't know where you get the context I have a problem with gay characters. I have a problem with trash writing, which AGayLight (Acolyte) is. You are bias. You need gay in entertainment and media for it to be of value? Sad. I'm a man, one of my all time favorite movies features a strong female lead - hell, my favorite Star Wars movie is Rogue One. I also love Puss in Boots Last Wish as best animated film - I don't identify as a cat or any animal, yet absolutely loved it and can relate to Puss - a cat, not by looks, but what he deals with. I have cancer - my life could end anyday, I feel and relate to what Puss is going through. In all these films, the characters' sexuality is not the key factor... you need more to your identity if that's all you're looking for in media... Also, in Star Wars, the only romance that mattered was Anakin and Padme - AND IT IS STRICTLY FOR THE PLOT: Luke and Leia -- romance in Star Wars is not of any grand importance if you have acumen of the story it is telling.

See Carrie Moss was in The Matrix, and she did alot of kung-fu, so we can basically 2x member berries by having her be a kung fu jedi master, who also we need to kill before we establish any reason to like her character. - the logic of writing behind this show.

I sometimes wish Star Wars would go to the public domain. Yeah, some people would make stupid stuff for the sake of it, but I feel a lot of fans would make good stories if it was open to the public. Because they are fans and fans generally don't like seeing their favorite franchises suck, so they put more effort into it most of the time. Like how modders will often make better stuff to put in a video game than the official developers.
@kiethveseyofficialАй бұрын
Yeah, they won’t till late 2090s or the early 22nd century the Prequels and the OG Trilogy will enter public domain (A miracle they did released copyrights on Winnie The Pooh and Steamboat Mickey). All of the Millennial audience and the previous generations before us will be a long dead by the time Star Wars goes public domain (showing how much a pos Disney truly is with copyright).

I know a bunch of people are prequel apologists now, but George Lucas's depiction of the Jedi in Episodes 1-3 was a disaster for Star Wars.
@jakeviolet2195Ай бұрын
George waited too long to make the prequels and he lost his mojo. I don't know what prevented him from making the prequels right after the first three, when his creative fires were still burning hot. But I think they would have been better if he did. I think I read somewhere that he was waiting for technology to catch up, so he could include all that crappy early 00s plasticky CGI. That definitely was not worth waiting for.

@@jakeviolet2195 I think the positive contributions of George Lucas' first wife are overlooked. None of his movies were much good after they divorced. Star Wars or otherwise.
