I read that huckleberries grow best in western states and high elevations. Too bad i live in an eastern state. 😥 I hope Ron never has another heat stroke or any health emergency. I'm a retired nurse. Please don't let yourself or anyone get to that point again! I'm sure you want to live to live in that house of your dreams, and all of us fans out here are cheering for you. Such a lovely couple! We love you guys! Be safe! Please! 💖💙

I do remember reading somewhere that when you are having heat stroke, do NOT drink cold watet. Reason being all your blood will rush to your stomach to warm it, this pulls blood away from extremities, and head. 😮. This causes you to become very light headed, and pass out. Do take care dear ones. 🙏❤

My husband and I have built 3 homes since our marriage almost 33 years ago. We didn't build each completely by ourselves, but we did take part in doing something in each home. I designed the Floorplans in the 1st and 3rd homes. So, it feels good to say we took part in each of them. 🏠🏘

My average cookie-cutter suburbia house cost me 94K back in 1994. It is now appraised at 280K which is ridiculous (Texas prices, which are lower than national norms). I know you will have a quality house and I hope you enjoy it for many years!

You are both so right in what you say about the quality of stuff built today. Things are built to break so you have to replace things. My parents were given a brand spanking new twintub washing machine as a wedding gift in 1959. They gave it to me for my first house in 1982, and bought their first automatic. I loved that twin tub; I reluctantly replaced it with an automatic around 1986 because my ex husband wanted something modern (even though he never once actually did a washing 🙄) But even then it was passed on....still working perfectly. Compare that with my having had to replace my washing machine around 4/5 times in the past ten years. 🤷‍♀️😠

He actually built them. He was an electrical engineer. He read books to learn all he knew. Thankfully some of his knowledge rubbed off on me.😊 I LOVE blueberry pie. I call it tartness, but I like the word bright- great description. It’s the tang with the sweetness that I love. Your huckleberry pie makes we want to source some huckleberries and give it a whirl! Stay healthy you two. Your health is everything. ❤

My husband is Thirty and is prone to heatstroke as well, you have to be careful because they get worse each time you have one. The last time he went down was when he was in the military and his heart completely stopped beating. Thank you JESUS, his heartbeat came back and he is alive and well. But heat stroke almost took him at 25. Be careful out there Ron, don't push yourself too far! Also, can't wait to see y'all's house. It's gonna be a beauty! 😍 We built our small two bedroom house for $25,000 ourselves and it was appraised to sell for $95,000 if that gives anyone an idea. And that was eleven years ago with much cheaper wood prices! 😅 The Deja Vu event sounds so neat! I live in jealousy...

Greetings from Montana 😊👋 I am so happy to hear that you guys are enjoying the huckleberry pie! Huckleberries are known here in Montana and we have everything from Huckleberry jams, barbecue sauce (my personal favorite 😉), Huckleberry chocolate bars, huckleberry honey, huckleberry popcorn, huckleberry tea and huckleberry syrup! Huckleberries are really a picky berry! They love to grow wild….they have tried to commercially grow it, and it defies a lot of that kind of growing. So, most people just go pick their own, but you have to fight the Bears for them! They are a very expensive berry….a barrel of them costing as much as a barrel of oil! No kidding! So, enjoy 😊 it truly is a treat! Have a blessed week! ❤🇺🇸❤🇺🇸❤🇺🇸

There's nothing snobby about encouraging people to have a hand in building things and telling them it might surprise them how good it feels. You acknowledged people who might not be able to, but your message was being sent to people who are curious or inspired by watching you guys and have the means but maybe not the motivation or know-how, not to people who are in circumstances preventing that sort of thing. I loved hearing more about your cabin - how much it cost, how long it took, etc. You could never buy that for $3k. Even as a playhouse. Not even close.

When I heard Ron had heatstroke, I thought, "OMG!". Oh, _do_ be careful. I want you to be together for a long time. My late husband had a similar experience while unloading a huge trailer on a hot summer day for the store he worked for. This was many years ago when he was in his 20s. He saw things in black and white, he heard things as though he was under water, and he felt dizzy. His coworkers stopped him and took care of him just in time. BTW, I can hardly wait until October, too. I love the fall colors, the crisp dry weather, and the holidays all lining up!

I’m heartbroken 💔 The meal looks delicious: stuffed chicken and huckleberry pie. Ron needs to avoid heatstrokes. They can be serious. Fortunately, he recovered quickly. I have no idea that you built your gorgeous cabin. I thought you rented for the show. Historical facts: First photo of tornado. Scary. Chop suey was invented. In 1889, Good-Year was founded. Interesting facts about the Centennial Bell I was nervous about the fire on the cabin. I was relieved when it was extinguished. Thank you, Ron and Justine.

Right. They are all gitty like and 'oops, sorry 😅'. Not to make fun of them but this is extremely serious. You're body literally shuts down and you stop sweating. On top of that, you really never fully recover from a heat stroke. He's alive because he's young.

My Dad had a heat stroke and the doctor told him once you have one, you are prone to have more. Be careful people.❤

Agree! Heat is so dangerous! Pedialite might help a tiny bit if you get there.

I didn’t think they we’re laughing about it. They were trying not to make it sounds like they want sympathy. Yes be careful. I live in the southwest. I know what heat is.

Glad you are okay Ron and Justine and your dad were there to help you! It’s scary when it happens. I had one when I was a teenager and passed out and ever since I can’t handle a lot of heat. Stay safe you guys! And I love huckleberry!!!!!
