I did this once, but when crocheting the hair, I braided that also, so it would match the rest of the "pick and drop" braids that were completed around the perimeter. It looked great. :)

This method would work perfectly with pre-braided twisted hair being crocheted in the middle instead of just loose hair. I really appreciate your great tutorials! This method is helpful for a faux top bun too Ladies...circular conrow and then crochet the hair in, pull up natural hair and voila!
