Good afternoon Nick, I remember living for a while on a barge on the Camden Canal by Highgate and Hampstead interchange, well by Camden Market. I wish it had been like this, I'd have never ended up buying a flat in Hampstead GS,. This was so much fun though and my "Canal Family" were amazing. Lots of fresh air and wet feet sometimes but we got through. I highly recommend trying out one of these for a holiday and you can no get ones that allow you to navigate through to Europe. Such joy. Thankyou so much for showing one of these, brings back all those happy memories.

Nick the main drawback of living on a 6'10" wide narrowboat is they have tiny refrigerators. Even my truck camper in America had a huge refrigerator and separate freezer. The wide beam boats are floating homes and if you don't like the neighbors you just move down the waterway. I could see myself living on a wide beam instead of a narrow beam canal boat. Definitely a luxury abode, thanks for the time and effort to show us this wonderful boat.

Sir Burnham I like the canal boat for its ability to travel said canals. The low air draft allows you to go into tunnels and under low fixed bridges. The U.K. is refurbishing many more canals and the travel on them allows you to explore the more pastoral side of life. I prefer the journey to getting there quickly and these and trawler type vessels appeal to me. Proper work machines over glittering show palaces are also very much appreciated. You continue to do the Lords work by doing these wonderful videos!

I am utterly, utterly absorbed by this channel (and Motaholic) and the diversity of floating toys and palaces that for now, I can only dream of. I also have questions - sooo many questions, but the only one I'll ask today is about the camera work. From the Camera Mirror Wave(tm) to the magic shoes, and guest spots from Maggie and Jacques, to the insights afforded us through the occasional "behind the scenes" and "day in the life of" videos, it's clear you have found something you absolutely love to do, Nick, and that is wonderful. Something which all your fans and subscribers are grateful for. But, I was watching your recent video of the Windy 39 Camira, and you linked to your previous video for MBM. Of course I clicked on it to watch, and I wondered what was strange about that 2014 video, and then I realised - you were presenting *to* the camera! So after all of my waffle, I wanted to ask whether you'd go ever consider going back to presenting to camera (perhaps with a glamorous camerawoman?) or if you much prefer the solo approach (Social distancing measures notwithstanding)? Thanks again for another superb insight into a different and lovely watercraft.

I find it a lot more natural to be behind the camera - it feels like I'm showing a friend around the boat and people seem to like that approach.

I guess I don't understand the appeal of river cruising. It seems to me this is more like a house on the water at the marina that doubles as an occasional mobile home for going up and down inland waterways. If I were going to have a boat like this, I would use it for lake motoring and live aboard it for weekends out on the lake. Of course, to do that, you would need AC electrical power so a generator would be essential. When you look at all of the conveniences on the boat...refrigeration, hot water for showering, lots of lighting etc., it's definitely configured in this instance to spend almost all of its time tied up with a shore power cable running into it. Personally I see it as a somewhat strange category of boat ownership. Outstanding tour as always. I love your walkthroughs Nick. Around every corner there's a surprise. Dennison's walkthroughs are lavishly produced with marvelous editing and quality but if you watch the first 3 minutes, you've seen almost every interesting feature on the boat! Nothing is revealed, the trailer at the beginning is full of spoilers. I generally move the progress bar forward in time until I see a swim platform or a flybridge...then I know the actual tour has begun! Your format is a much better experience for the boat owner wannabe!

@@kinkymangoes Here in Canada we don't have Canal boats, however, something like this, if insulated for winter, could make for a fine floating houseboat for the nomads at heart to travel Canada's great lakes, with a few haul mods like active water flow pumps to prevent ice, something like a dock bubbler.
