In 1869, Dr. Charles Ozanam recorded the heartbeat of a 100 year old heart patient, Monsieur Leger (1769 - 1869), using a new device known as the Sphygmorgraphe, as part of his diagnosis. That visual graph, turned back to sound by computer scanning technology, allows us to hear the living heartbeat of a man born more than 250 years ago.
