Best part of these hilltop towns are the views. And the breeze…! A farm would be nice but then you are in the flats. BTW…. You are such a consistent viewer and commenter when you do make it to Italy I’d be happy to show you around this area. It would be super educational for you and your little guy to learn about the area and fun to make a video of real people going through the real process. (And Yes Anna from LA I’m just waiting for the call so I can show you around too! 😎)

Thank you for taking the time to share your personal experience with Italy doctors and health care. I just went on Medicare and our private insurance is $97.00 a month sponsored by a major oil company. Yes, we are very fortunate. We also live in Texas, in the hill country, on 10 acres and our home/property accessed value is just over $1.0 million. Our yearly school and property tax before the new increase in homestead exemption is $7500.00 a year, so we don’t complain but I definitely understand your numbers. We had similar numbers in New York. I am working on my dual citizenship as I have Italian ancestry and hope to make another trip over to Italy next year. Will be in touch. Many thanks for all you effort. Cindy

Howdy from north Texas! We enjoy the walk-arounds too. Gives us an idea of the surrounding area and community. We are of a certain age where health care is a concern, especially for me. This house is actually in quite habitable condition. That terrace is the bomb! I think if the 2nd floor is reworked a bit this could make an awesome single-family home. P.S. Great tour! It’s an amazing exterior! The layout is great. The views are great. But the renovation they did sometime between 1977-1987 (guessing) turned the house into a McMansion from the Jersey shore. Obviously it’s an estate. There are abandoned walkers all over the place, and it looks like the ripped out the bathtub to put in a walk-in shower where you could put a chair for the person to sit. The price is great-until you think about all the work that has to be done to make it look less like a mall. 🤷‍♂️
@BradsWorld
@BradsWorld Жыл бұрын
I think your probably spot on the date of last remodel. It wasn’t an estate. It was an end of life situation. In the short time since I shot the video two weeks ago it isn’t an end of life issue now. 😔.L I tried to soft shoe it in the video but it might have been lost in being too obscure. I’ve done five pretty intensive remodels here. Everybody’s idea of expensive is different, but I can tell you if you gave me €40,000 I could make this place look like a palace.

I would agree that the much bigger properties really need a floorplan, I don’t think properties under 200 m² really need one… And I’m here to tell you it takes a lot of time to come up with a usable floor plan. I was making them for some of my bigger property tours, and I literally spent hours trying to get everything correct and to scale…

Yes… 🤦🏼‍♂️ high quality healthcare for reasonable fees. What a concept. Such a weight off of my mind. How does a “retiree” under 60 pay for healthcare in US? You have to have the mindset of Property taxes and healthcare costs are both taxes you pay in US. The income tax here is a LITTLE higher as a percentage but I feel far outweighed by the savings in virtually no yearly property tax and minimal healthcare costs.

How much is a remodel per square meter average for a place like Roccasecca? My acquaintance in Valtelina, Lombardia spent €1,100,000 remodeling a 225 Sq m house his parents abandoned in 1930s to emigrate to Australia. I was frankly shocked it was so much. They may have gone overboard. Thanks. Chris San Francisco.
@BradsWorld
@BradsWorld Жыл бұрын
A full remodel like that when you just have a shell is currently about €2000 per square meter. It’s about 50% less than the building cost from the ground up seeing in the states right now for a good quality construction. More or less. For those on the American system that’s about $230 per square foot. If you take a place that is structurally sound, you can expect to spend anywhere from $20-$80 per square foot. It just depends what you want to do. Our biggest remodel was approximately €70 a square foot or €140,000 which included replacing all flooring, new wall, treatments, new AC systems, new kitchen, four new bathrooms… You get the idea. You can see the video on my channel.

Hi Brad, ....all the best getting over the bronchitis and having your foot heal (for more walking?) if you haven't already. ❤The medical visit coverage was a great idea - something most of us will need at one time or other. I was amused and surprised to hear you mention Kiwis living on the near coast, (being one myself)...the Gold Coast of Australia is another big nesting spot for overseas living Kiwis...we seem to gravitate to coastal areas I guess. Looks like a property with lots of quite straightforward potential, and easy living while doing whatever needs work. Personally I quite liked the teal (?) green and wood kitchen, pretty cheerful colours, wouldn't rush to change it. And the walkway bit that has been enclosed with windows and used for plants and herbs is very sweet.🫑🍓🌶

Ha ha...oh oops...it's a common misunderstanding of who is talking about what. NZers often call ourselves Kiwis and the fruit - kiwifruit. Which we kind of appropriated, as they were called Chinese gooseberry before that. I have had the yellow one - delicious! (its called gold kiwifruit here) but I haven't seen a red one 😮.. they sound interesting!!...😋
