I just bought a 310D that had been sitting. I have no forward or reverse. Im getting ready to check line, forward, reverse and relief pressures tomorrow. If I have to pull my unit and build it can you answer some questions for me?

Shure thing but I'm no expert, my experience with these reversers is what you see here on KZbin but I'm happy to help in any way that I can.

@@tdm8817 copy. Do I need to support the rear of the engine, and pull the reverser and bell housing as a unit? Or can I leave the bellhousing bolted to the engine, and unbolt and slide the reverser out of the bell housing and converter? I got manuals and parts coming from my local dealer but wanted to get a idea lol

@@sosebee12nadc13 I pulled mine leaving the bell housing and converter in place, pulling it was easy but when you go to install it I would recommend supporting the reverser loosely with a ratchet strap or similar to allow for alot of movement to align the splines, at first I tried installing it with my tranny jack wich for one was way to big for such a small reverser but also it dint allow much movement so I fought it for about an hour until I decided to support it with a ratchet strap and then was able to get the splines lined up in about 2 min. I would recommend only using factory John Deere hygard oil in the reverser. I've seen alot of different oils used in these but the hygard is much better quality in my opinion.

@@tdm8817 I got mine pulled, overhauled. Didn't really see any smoking gun failure other than some wiring strands broke on the forward/reverse solenoid coil. After I got it back installed and everything hooked up)I ran a ratchet strap down from the roof and went through the hood opening in front of the steering wheel to hang the reverser) i had a leak coming from the front of the pump/rear convertor. I pulled the unit again thinking I knicked the seal, slid the unit back into the bell housing/converter and even very carefully with a new seal its still dripping out the front of the pump.
