Collecting can become an addiction for many people. Good saying Dean " Hold onto people tightly and things lightly" Nice pickup, I love the CC Morgan's, they are the only coin I currently have a complete collection of GD

Dean, great video. I wish I had heard your rules early in my collecting but still here. I love the old green PCGS holders. Is there anything that can buff scratches out of the slab?

@@macarioacosta7767 thank you my friend. Yes, I used a product that really helps with getting some scratches off the holders, but it’s a lot of ‘elbow grease’ needed. My ‘rules’ for myself are simple as they need to be, but nevertheless we all need our own set of rules with whatever we do. Thanks again for watching and commenting.

I collect silver, but I have bills to pay as well. I don’t use drugs or drink alcohol, so I have a small budget for silver. Some people go overboard with their addictions, and they should seek help.

That's a smart man. I too, even being new only 4 years into stacking as well as hunting coins and currency daily. Noticed I have to scale back as it takes up quite a bit of time. Luckily a couple of my children and wife help me search and help re-wrap coins.

YES! I For once I nailed the grade on a morgan. I thought it was every bit of 64. Really nice looking coin. Great information all around. There's a KZbinr called "Classical Numismatics" who has a video called something like "The Dark Side of Coin Collecting" which talks about some things very similar to what you were discussing in the first half. About how it's not good to get too sucked in to the point where it's no longer enjoyable. I found that video to be useful in changing my mentality on collecting so I enjoy it more.

@@TheWinstonDouble YES!!! It’s absolutely a solid 64 with an original look, hence why I think it got the CAC sticker. I think I’ll be able to do better someday and might even be able to get a 65. I will have to try to find that video you suggested. I’m shocked he just wiped everything but it sounds like he needed a fresh start. It can get out of hand, but that’s why every collector needs checks and balances. Thanks for watching my friend and sharing too.

@massabesicgoldandsilver You can always upgrade, but to me MS-64 is where a grade really means something and that one looks like a really good one. Definitely one to sticker, and for the price difference I don't think you're leaving much on the table. I like seeing the coins you pick because they always have a good look for whatever the grade is. It's noticable that you're well educated collector with a good eye.

Wow I consider myself a very modest amateur coin collector, I really get and feel the perspective on this video… when I get a Morgan or Morgan CC, I like to go on KZbin and look up the year that the coin is dated makes it more interesting, Connecting the coin with history .

If you have the junky 🧬, it’s imperative you know how to keep it in check. Women, drugs, gambling, alcohol or buying everything in sight it’s all the same. With coins, at least you have something to show for your money. Nice 83cc.

Yea , I bought a GSA toner from the You -Tuber who just got too addicted to Buying . He is a great guy and is doing what he needs to do for himself . I Collect , Buy & Sell as a hobby and Investment . I enjoy looking for a good buy at an auction and going to local shows looking for toner Morgans and certain MS dates . My first buy was an 1878-CC in 1980 I got for $125 and sent it in to NGC in 1981 and got an old soap holder MS-65 .

Addiction to collecting can be a real problem. Most of us are shielded by monetary limits however. When you collect on credit or by spending the last nickel you have, it is time to reconsider, indeed. However, why did he have to take down the videos? It was his work. He could have just forget about them. Never return to them. Leave them for the others! Why destroy a nice job? It is not like the videos were calling him back to his addiction! Or were they? I guessed the grade of this 83CC! I was really pleased with myself! :) I don''t want to upset you, but I don't understand why they CAC ed it! It is an MS64. It has not special attributes, like some crazy toning or frozen surfaces or mirror fields or a very good strike. Just an usual MS64! Why do you think it received the green bean? @@mariuseduard7688 I’m not sure why he took down his videos. Truly a shame as they were great, but I’m guessing he wanted a fresh start. It looks like to me CAC ‘stickered’ the coin because it’s a solid 64 with a very original look. Also, IMHO CAC shows a lot of love to these PCGS OGHs. I could afford the coin and pleased I won, but I think I can do better 😆 always looking for the upgrades. Thanks for watching and commenting. Good to have you back.

Nice coin there but for common date coin like this .yes even with cac sticker , no need to pay premium like on HA etc . Ms65 or higher might be but definitely not below 5 unless it has beautiful toning or error.

@@ACE_. thanks for checking it out. I will probably upgrade to a 65 someday, but I could easily afford this one and it will have better resale than the raw 1883-CC I have. Also, I’m quite in love with the PCGS OGH’s. I will say Heritage has been cheaper for me lately compared to eBay. I’m going to a coin show in the fall and hope I can do even better.
