Both the 80S and 85S are stunning Morgans.. A nice 85-S like yours here is getting pretty difficult to find at a good price..I think you did super for $400 ..its a gorgeous coin. I still need to add a nice MS 85-S to my pile. Take care Dean 🙂

Yea i have been seeing alot from this seller it's not polished it's photo shipped if you look at the reviews everyone is complaining they get the coin and it's all scratched up. I am glad someone called them out.

This video only points to me what a crappy grading company CACG is. There is no way that this 85S is a 61! With that beautiful strike, frozen devices and semiprooflike fields...They are just wrong! What are they grading? Only surface preservation? Even so, even if you grade only surface preservation and still this coin is higher than 61! This is at least 63 if not even 64. To me, at least! And CACG is a bunch of fools trying to look very strict on grading. Regarding the PL or DMPL designations...this is again...There are many, many degrees of mirror on coins. As the die gets older and older its mirrors go lower and lower. There are maybe 100 degrees of mirror intensity they could note. And they have only 3 degrees: DMPL, PL and BU (not mentioned). Theis is plain childish. You got there a vey nice coin, much undergraded! If I were you I would break it out of the holder and resumbit it to PCGS! I could bet it will return at least 2 points higer.

@@mariuseduard7688 preach it! Yes for a company with the ideology of being elite they certainly did miss the mark on this coin and others I will be showing in the next couple months. This coin looks to me a 62-63 if not a 62+. Like you I’m surprised with their overall assessment of the coin. I paid up on this coin at $374.00 but she’s a beauty. Time will tell on CACG but I think they are not going to make headway with grading when coins are this nice. Thank you for watching and especially for commenting.

80-S all day. The old adage “They don’t make um like they used to” comes to mind every time I see a modern silver coin. I own the 23 proofs and reverse proofs. Like them a lot.

I've seen so many people get ripped off by "Morgan Dealer" these photos are highly photoshoped. The coin you get is a worn morgan worth basically a little over melt.

She’s quite the beauty for a 61. Nice contrast helps. I’m an 80-S nerd that try’s to branch out as much as possible. I’m doing pretty well buying pre-33 gold the last few months. Indians are an addiction.

Yeah, I think it's a (cac 61), but pcgs or ngc would go higher for sure. I thought it was at least a 62, maybe hair better without those marks on cheek. That 1880 s PL, 🤤 ....the eye appeal is where it's at for me. Thanks for the MDM fix.

Ouch, I had it at a 62. That's a harsh grade. I mean you can get a way worse looking MS-60. That's at least a couple points higher than bottom of the barrel. It's a very attractive coin. I know the old green holders are looser on PLs & DMPLs though. It's tougher standards on that now. I've finally figured out that they don't actually reapply the cameo between runs. The die just gets frosty from striking coins and then they polish the fields back to a mirror. It looks a little different than normal cameo. Thanks again for sharing with us, I enjoy S mint coins a lot!

Great information and great notes! (Even for Fancies!) The Monochromes are spectacular and the same serial with your zeros and sevens - now that is cool. The great thing about the early S mints is that you can enjoy a beautiful toner that usually comes on a fully struck coin. And they're generally affordable.
