The paint job is absolutely stunning, and the cabinet has been refinished to perfection. I have found that using a thread stand works much better on cross wound spools, such as the one you are using. It really does a good job preventing lash back. Thank you for the time and effort making this very informative video.

Thats the first 15 ive seen with the thumb release style upper tentioner , im used to seeing them on vibrating shuttles but not on the 15s , very interesting thanks for showing a great restored gem .....

Your machine is beautiful. I recently rescued singer improved family from 1888 and am just starting to restore her. I need to find a bobbin wonder spring--listed as part 81G in old Singer List of Part IF publication from 1891. Any idea where I might find one? Do you know if I can substitute a later spring from a model 15? Does anybody make a moderne reproduction one? Note, my bobbin winder looks just like yours and runs on the treadle belt.
