Damn Sharon is one kickass woman. Probably one of your best finds in a mine so far! The amount of dust is pretty concerning, being it a lead mine. I hope on your next visit you invest in a respirator. We'd all hate to see your health effected. Watching you climb across that stope clinging to nothing but 100 year old stalls seemed to make Sharon a little nervous, I dont know how you do it.

Being a Sharon myself, & no fraidy-cat where trail-blazin's concerned, I must admit, I'm nowhere near as vertically adventurous as Sharon la de voz suave reina de las cuerdas! Whenever I click on an EAM vid & see her, occasionally in-tow, but more often leading the pack, I hear AC/DC rocking, "She's Got Balls" as my mental soundtrack whilst viewing.

I'm in Vermont and used to do a lot of caving here when I was younger. I've been in quite a few old Vermont mines as well....the nicest being the ones carved/blasted out of solid rock as they are clean and stable with little or no signs of coming apart. On the flip side we went in some old Copper mines which were confusing and sketchy and we didn't stay long just because they seemed very unsafe and were very convoluted from a mapping point of view. I believe those mines have since been sealed and the land cleaned up and reclaimed to take care of the water pollution etc. There is another old mine thats near me that I've not been in for quite a while but it was waste deep water and frigid at that. I recall there were some boards on the floor and maybe some old track too.

this has been a very cool mine so far Frank, the jeans were one thing but them sketchy stopes and them boulders just waiting to be touched and freed, must be a weird feeling knowing no one else has been that deep since they stopped working there back in the day, that dust can't be good for the lungs mate, I guess you got some good ore samples out of your nose later on hey lol

This is pretty sketchy........I don't know if we should go any further.........on this part. I'm worried about it." 😂 Just goes to show how quickly one changes his mind about something in a hundred year old mine. Stay safe Buddy. By the way........... I think you've met your match with Sharon. You Darlin have nerves of steel. Glad we could witness this.

I have a very expensive UV light with low and high intensity and black light all over that mine there is florescence's some walls are breath taking beautiful. There used to be a huge crystal that went from one wall to the other I wonder if its still there that was amazing.. I wish I could go back there someday I love that place.. the mine dumps out side of the mine are beautiful at night with the UV lights check them out... thank you so much for doing a video on this mine...

I live in Kentucky, right in the middle inside of a small town. I remember going camping with a friend of mine, heading to the northeast part of Kentucky, where some mines are. We found a nice spot to camp in the woods, in the Appalachian mountains, and set up our tents and the fire pit etc. when we went hiking we actually stumbled across what we thought was a cave. Curious I peeked inside and low and behold it was a mine. I was really tempted to go in, but I didn’t have my climbing gear. (So I’ve basically never been in a mine.) I don’t know the location of the mine but I know it’s been abandoned for some time.

Sometimes I wonder if those Stolls were mainly to put platforms on because if a quake decided to move those walls together there would be no stopping it, especially as they would probably not come together at 90 degree angle anyway which would release all the Stolls. Also we can see that many decades after they have rotted away the mines stay the same in hard rock. It's only loose stuff coming down ore chutes that blocks drifts off. Obviously I know there is catastrophic failure and collapse but it's pretty rare if you put all the hundreds of thousands of miles of drifts around the world.
