I’m still on my second watch of the series and haven’t been able to watch it for a few weeks. I forgot just how good it is! Watching with you guys pulled me right back in. Isn’t it funny how we (or at least me) were so sure Daniel was a bad guy in the first two episodes? Then we get to this one and 🤯. I agree, you have to love Eyk as well and it’s hard not to ship them (I was loving all your boat puns, by the way). But also we’re rooting for Daniel is so it’s hard. The backstory stuff with Tove was hard to watch, wasn’t it? So crazy. Anyway, loving your reactions and I will see you for episode 7!

Thanks so much for the comment and support! It's so funny, Daniel definitely gave a bit of a villain vibe, but once we find out what his connection was to Maura... and seeing the pain in his eyes as he's begging her to remember, it makes it sooo hard to ship Eyk and Maura instead haha. i don´t think her Family had much of a choice they were tied up and made to watch
@kaitoffelkopf2 жыл бұрын
Yeah. I feel like many viewers missed this, have seen them being "useless" and not helping at all towards Tove pointed out many times when they really didn't have a choice. The guy probably told them to tie each other up pointing the shotgun. I actually feel sorry for all of them, Tove obviously included as we see scene unfold through her eyes and that's particularly painful. I cheered when she shot her rapist.
@OfficialMediaKnights2 жыл бұрын
Thank you both for pointing that out. It was an incredibly tough scene to watch, and in the moment itself some details do get lost, as hard as we try to take everything in, we do miss a few things! Definitely cheered when she shot that sorry excuse of a man. I think my (Denise) revulsion came more from how her family acted afterwards, in particular their passive approach to what happened to Tove, their reluctance to truly acknowledge her trauma and trying to weaponize religion to name the pregnancy/baby a 'gift'. It may be considered a gift to some, of course - but it's like Tove is not even considered at all in all of this. But again, this is just my perception and may be flawed/biased!
@kaitoffelkopf2 жыл бұрын
@@OfficialMediaKnights Your perception is very valid, Denise! I wholeheartedly agree with you! Tove suffered through so much and received 0 support on behalf of her family, her parents in particular. I think Krester is deeply traumatised and guilty about what happened to her, which I'd say explains his whole anxious and restrained behaviour towards Ángel a lot better. Ángel's advances are a strikingly similar reminder and trauma trigger of what caused all this pain for the family (the situation with this wealthy landowner's son). That's why Tove, when she witnessed Ángel trying to lure in her brother with his charms and gift, intervened so furiously and Krester easily gave in and let her take control over this situation at first. Retrospectively, the interactions between the siblings gain more logic and sense. :)

Yes, it is mind bending. The memories are quite obviously false. So why create those in first place? Everyone who has a memory is or feels in some way responsible for the death of a person.
@OfficialMediaKnights2 жыл бұрын
We’re still trying to figure that one out! Maybe the finale will give us more insight 😄
@monil24472 жыл бұрын
Is Mrs. Wilson predetermined to die? She almost threw herself into the sea. And there, she touches this kind of mineral/digital cancer, just after Iben's remarks on predetermination... Lucien almost touched this thing too, but he must die anyway... "They can't fight their nature, what's inside and what they feel inside." Yes ! In Episode 2, Jerome tells Clemence that even birds aren't free, because they can't escape who they are. This is also why we are predetermined. I believe this will be a major theme of the show. Tove was predetermined to be played by this actress because she looks like Magnus Nielsen's twin sister (right?) and, as a teddy bear, I was predetermined to watch your videos because this funny blue creature hanging on the wall never ceases to intrigue and fascinate me. WHAT IS THAT ? When you show it, it annoys me, because it distracts me, but when I can't see his (her ?) face I miss it... I think I would like to be introduced.
@OfficialMediaKnights2 жыл бұрын
Very interesting. Thank you for the thoughtful comment!! There is definitely an interesting commentary in the show about predeterminism and fate. It's funny, Ari and I agree on 99.9% of things, but in this case we do stand on opposite ends of the spectrum haha. I have not seen this brought up, but there's many Meta jokes in this series too! - In Ep2, Eugene (Crew member) says complaints that (paraphrased) since the German is leading the crew, everybody lives in a mystery, subtle nod to creators Baran Bo Odar and Jantje Friese who are German and are obviously making the Mystery show where no one gets their questions answered. - The Flashlight bit I commented on previous part. - "May your coffee kick in, before reality does", obviously doesn't mean anything to in the context of the show, but it's another meta acknowledgement saying "Take Coffee because we know we have you hooked for a Binge Watches and Rewatch"

I was so shocked that that was the murder Kester threw in her face! Like he's the reason this man came and assaulted her and then he was judging her for the fact that she defended herself!
@kaitoffelkopf2 жыл бұрын
I can understand you sentiments. But it kind of irks me when viewers correlate Tove being sexually assaulted by this rapist and Krester being punished essentially for having a fling with the landowner's son, because NO neither Krester nor his parents are at fault for what happened to Tove. The rapist assaulted her, he made the decision and acted on it for something (homosexuality) that shouldn't even be punished in the first place and that's messed up! Could the parents have done more to protect their children? Hell yeah they could have. But they are too deeply tied into their religious believes. About Krester throwing this assault and consequential murder into Tove's face: Yeah, that was messed up. But it's also understandable in a way. It doesn't mean he undermines her action to kill her rapist, rather the contrary - in his mind - is an example for when it's justifiable to kill someone. In Tove's case she did it to protect herself and her family and in this case, Krester thinks killing the boy would protect the people on the ship, because the mutiny guys see the boy as cause for all these deaths, therefore in his eyes it's a rightful thing to kill him (debatable). Still not cool to say this to your sister, but I get it, both are emotionally loaded and traumatised, but obviously Tove is the stronger one and seems to deal with trauma in a more effective way. Sorry for the long rant.
@OfficialMediaKnights2 жыл бұрын
Honestly, we see both sentiments. It's such a difficult and complicated situation to comment on... To be fair - as traumatic this event would have been for everybody, it was the family's lack of acknowledgement towards Tove that made it hard to relate to. The mother, in particular, weaponized religion to completely surpass the event, and kept referring to the pregnancy as a gift, with no consideration to what it means the carry your rapist's child. I imagine Krester feeling incredibly complicated feelings as well, perhaps some survivor's guilt mixed in with the judgment from the mother about his homosexuality and how it was deemed as something so abhorrent when it's just a natural part of life and should never be judged that way. Love is love, at the end of the day. It's just an incredibly difficult situation, mainly for Tove and Krester and they both deserved more support and kindness.

First, Daniel needs to jump off the ship like everyone else and go away. Hahah I ship Maura and Captain, and I’m not here for it! Lol. But this became more clear of a symbolic idea of the brain metaphorically for me. The dad aka Qyburn, said they lock themselves in essentially and have the power to do more. And all these passages are blocked, much like brain blocks. It’s like their in passageways of the mind. Because a lot of this feels like dreams that you know are dreams. Where everything looks the same, but your bedroom is a bedroom from a previous house. Feels off. Idk. Really good!
