@@OfficialMediaKnights I really loved this show, it's definitely my kind of show as far as themes and genres and it was fun watching you two enjoy it. It was fun to watch your minds work at it when you'd start to go down a path and I'd think, to paraphrase what Maura's father said you were "asking the right questions". I've got a keen mind but damn I didn't figure things out until as they were happening and that's kind of a rare thing for me, but I love it when it happens (usually, unless it happened because the story was complete crap and nothing made any sense at all). That ending though. That raises so many more questions especially when taken with statements made earlier in the show by characters who were aware of the simulation like Daniel and Maura's father. How many of those memories were actual memories for each of the passengers, considering Krester didn't have his scar, Tove didn't appear to be pregnant, etc? I don't think Maura woke up to another simulation layer, but I can't be sure. Where is the ship going? The console screen said "survival mission to (x,y)" but that's incomplete coordinates for space travel. You need 3 coordinates, (x,y,z). I can't even begin to articulate all the new questions that ending raised, which is why a 2nd season needs to happen.

Honestly, we love when a story takes us by surprise - the intricacies in the storytelling for this show made it such a joy to watch, and with every twist and then we were just happy to be along for the ride! Aaalso - you've caught some veeery interesting things there! I wonder how the characters are going to be impacted by the memories of the simulation in real life..? Will it be just like a dream, forgotten in a day or a nightmare that lingers for a lifetime? I'm interested to see how the characters are connected in 'real life', and if they'll feel some of the feelings that were developed in the simulation... It begs an interesting question in regards to our perception of what is 'real'. Because if it's based on memories - what happened in the simulation, for all intents and purposes, was real... Gah such philosophical questions!! What a show, I cannot wait for the next season!

It sounded like he would be with her, like someone who passed will always be with the ones they leave behind. My most anticipated answer is who Ciaran is! could also be that "she" is not alive anymore. :-) Daniel can control the Sim and hack into is. And Sebastian can also alter things. But Maura has no memory at all. Its more like they maybe keep her Brain alive in a simulation but she has "no body" anymore. See the last part in the ship isnt real too. Noone would use the same old crt Monitors in a spaceship in 2099. Also she still has the triangle in her eyes. Also a tatto of it on her neck in the last scene. And why does Ciaran say Welcome to reality and not welcome "Back"? It seems to me that Sebastian and Daniel are the only "real" persons here. Also everyone has the "Triangle Mark" on ther clothes or elsewere. Exept Daniel and Sebastian. There is way more to this...

Dark S1E10 - "Welcome to the Future." 1899 E8 - "Welcome to Reality" 😉 Also Dark's intro - "Never Ever, Nor Never... Goodbye" In 1899, Daniel and Maura say to each other: "Never forget" "Never Ever". Surprised, you didn't start grinning seeing Jonas running around in tunnels with a light in hand. The mainframe that Daniel was directly coding into is actually a Quantum Computer, the fastest working computer possible. There's many glitch moments that show some scene for a brief frame throughout the show. One such frame actually has Space, and other has Maura with a hammer in hand. I'll like to clear one thing up, The ship everyone was on, in the setting 1899, is called Kerberos. It had around 1600 people on board, while Prometheus had 1923 people on it (same as the ship). Prometheus was the ship that had gone missing, not Kerberos. Loved your reactions! Thanks for reacting to the show! I'll obviously suggest to rewatch the show a couple of times (on your own time) with all you have learnt to theorize about what's actually going on.

@@pony_bramley 6 and/or 7. Can't give you a timestamp, but a Nebula is shown when Maura and Daniel are having sex (same Nebula is shown when reveal in 8 happens). The hammer frame is very short so you'd have to keep your eyes peeled.

Something interesting about "Ciaran", the brother: "Ciaran" means "little dark-haired one", so I wonder whether the kid/son is actually Ciaran or a representation of him. Also, I learned only after watching the whole series that the symbol of the ship company is the symbol for the "Earth" element, which is tied to the Underground, Hades, and *Cerberus.* On the other hand, the Fire element is shaped like a triangle, and it's tied to Prometheus (who brought fire/knowledge to the human race in the same mythology). I don't know what to make with all of this. 🤡 Was the Cerberus of Season 1 like a passageway to the Prometheus spaceship of Season 2? In that case, does it mean that the spaceship is the knowledge, or just another "level" preceding the true knowledge? 🤯

Woooow, there's some really interesting theories and easter eggs here! Honestly, from what we've seen of Dark, they take their research very seriously, and they write their stories meticulously. Even if the things you mentioned may not be clarified yet, I'm sure the symbolism will resurface in the next season! Honestly, I feel like space ship Prometheus will be just another simulation, and maybe this one will be the ship that 'disappeared'...? Maybe??

Like Dark, this show is so rich with literary and philosophical references (for example, the passengers strapped themselves in so they wouldn't jump off the ship, like Ulysses, and the caves of Widen are like the whale that swallowed Jonah and... someone will probably write a thesis on these two shows). What strikes me with 1899 is that we master our technologies but remain slaves to our minds: memory, mourning (Elliot, Daniel and maybe also Maura's father are dead, because she says in episode 2 that 'she lost everything), guilt cannot be controlled by any of the characters. I loved that finale episode and got anxious again with you, which was so fun ("Don't you dare end here !!!" 😅) Very great reactions guys! Can't wait for season 2 with you tow but while waiting there's Chernobyl and others masterpieces (Arcaaaaaanne, trust me, I know) to react to. Nice shorts by the way. Keep going dudes💗💗💗. It's funny that you mentiones their references, because their choices for the names of the ships, the characters - Eyk, means Ruler, Maura means 'star of the sea', Krester was derived from 'Christianus', meaning 'follower of Christ' which is ironic considering his family background... There are definitely many references to trauma, grief and even mental illness in this - and the stigma that comes with being who we are and the things that happen to us. @@OfficialMediaKnights Ah, cool: I hadn't noticed the meaning of the names. Clémence means clemency, forgiveness, and she's pretty nice to everyone, including Lucien. But someone here noticed that Ciaran didn't call Maura Maura but "sister". I don't know about the others, but Clémence and Lucien are too old names to be true. Who knows what the names are in real life? I want to believe that the spaceship is real life and that Season 2 will show the real pasts that inspired and influenced the simulations, but it's bound to be more complicated. So many things to think about and theories to do with these creators... Also, I don't know why I like Angel so much. Probably because he can cheat on Ramiro and be selfish, he's still kind of an angel. And because he's so honest and so real. This character is very fascinating to me. Anyway, no pressure guys: you have your full time jobs and Christmas is coming and there is real life out there... Just keep reacting that way (intelligent, involved and sincere).

Very interesting in particular the technique used to shoot, as it fits perfectly the narrative of the show (the same technique was used on the Mandalorian, called The Volume). In addition, the actors also give a deeper insight into their characters in their interviews and how it was to shoot with an international cast. Very, very cool.

Your reactions in this video were hilarious. Highly entertaining. Kudos... 😁 Regarding the ending.. Something isn't right about it. Several clues suggest.. Something is off. The computer monitor looked old. Avd then there's Ciaran's message. Shouldn't it have been "Welcome BACK to reality" instead of "Welcome to reality"? And why is he still referring to Maura as "sister" instead using her name? Similar thing happened with his letter. He signed it "From your brother". I think this is very odd. And the numbers of passengers and crew don't match the Kerebos and other Prometheus. And here's something I realized later: If you add passengers (1423) +crew (550)... You get 1973.. That looks like a year. Excellent finale and ending. On Dark's season finales level.

First of all, thank youu!! We're so glad you found our video entertaining, the show was incredible so it made our job of reactinv supereasy! As for the rest - holy shit!!! You're so right - everything about it felt... almost misplaced..? Now, the question is - our core characters that are in space ship Prometheus, are they the crew..? Or the passengers? Are they, perhaps, the 'other' ship that's drifting or got lost in space, like a mirror-image of the first season? What is Ciaran's goal here? Obviously, he's gone through tremendous effort to keep Maura in the simulation - you'd think he'd have a failsafe, so what is that? The ending was very clear on the fact that it's not over yet, but it was definitely very obvious that though Maura is out, the rest is still 'asleep'/in the simulation. What happens to the minds of those who 'died' in the simulation, I wonder? And how much of the simulation do they bring back with themselves once they wake up, e.g. when Captain Eyk wakes up, will he and Maura be confused about the feelings they developed for eachother in the simulation and will that conflict with how their relationship in this 'reality' is/was? Gaahhhh so many questions!!!

Yeah, we did go off the handle on theorizing to be fair. For some reason though, the way he said 'I'll always be there' in such anguish made us think that he's perhaps dead outside of the simulation... @@OfficialMediaKnights Yeah. I mean, sure, compared to Dark's first season, 1899 lacked a little, but it's still a damn good show, in so many ways! But apparently, Netflix wasn't as happy with the viewer numbers, especially since the production was expensive.

There's definitely plenty to pay attention in the show, and whilst the plot is not as complicated as Dark's, this one carries a lot of symbolism and other intricacies that require someone to reeeeaaaaallly pay attention!
