drop the engine down further when you start it, you will knacker the impeller, also make sure you wear the kill cord

Have you broken it in yet, and if so, what was the top speed? I'm shopping for that same motor. Thanks.

Hey there. I haven't had many opportunities to take her out this season, haha, and the 20-hour initial service warning buzzer hasn't even gone off yet. I've had her up to 4900 RPM and am clocking 22 knots on the GPS. I have to back off after that because the starboard chine starts to lift. I videoed the aft and can see the ventilation plate is still approximately 35mm underwater at that speed. Suzuki was running a free installation promotion, the dealer did an excellent job on the fit-out, so I have no issue when I discovered they had set the motor 35mm below the pad. I raised it to the last hole, and it was still below the delta pad. I have run out of holes, so I have drawn up a motor mount plate in CAD and added another 50mm to the template's top, including additional cutout slots as bolt channels instead of preset bolt holes. A mate will cut the drawing out of a 15mm alloy plate, and I will then fit that and aim to raise the ventilation plate so it will sit slightly above the waterline at full RPM. I'm estimating 26 knots will be in reach based on the boat speed at 4900 RPM.

@@xxxvr Thanks for the reply, I've decided to purchase the df 50 anyway, but it looks like a wait because of the worlds situation.
