“If you’re floating, you’re boating” and what a great way to get afloat! Diesel economy, trailerable, room for a weekend or just blasting down the coast towing some toys! We started our boating life on a 24’er and it was a brilliant intro into the joy of life afloat!

With only 337 hours on it,that boat is as new as it looks.Barely broken in,and well kept. Some lining has come loose but a good days work and it is new again too. What a great bargain. The ship has everything you need for a great day on the water, and even an overnight occasionally.Thank you Nick. That's what the higher end ships are like on the lakes near me.(and there's a boatload of lakes here)

A days work on a boat? Hahaha have you had a boat before mate? I'm an actual boat builder and it took me the entire Wednesday and Thursday last week refinishing two 1m long mahogany grab handles. All I had to do was get the shape back, epoxy the old screw holes and cracks then paint them with clear coat 3 times. Two days it took mate and I do this for a living, have done for 3 decades. A day on a boat you'd be lucky to clean the gel coat up in a kitchen area.

Right at the end of the video, as you go forward to the helm to sit down, we can see there's a bracket underneath the wheel. I'd guess that's for the VHF, leaving the bracket above for a chart plotter. That's a lot of boat in 22 feet!

Hi Nick… thank you for this review. This exactly the type of boat for beginners should consider. In my early days boating, I owned a Fletcher 19gts cuddy cabin, basically the same as this boat but a bit smaller. and it was absolutely terrific. The performance was excellent. I had an board portals and wet bar. Essential IMO. Very easy boat to manage as well. As a first, 2nd or 3rd boat, it is as good as it gets. Value for money and overall quality is extremely good… Possibly the best in its class. Thank you for considering people on “budgets” for boating… means a lot Nick 🙏

From a packaging point of view, we had a Falcon 23SPC which was only a foot longer, but the use of space beat the Fletcher hands down…… I would have preferred a diesel, but the knarly old petrol V6 gave us 33 knots clean with a duo prop leg. The cockpit was larger, more spacious, twin helm seat with the fridge under the seat squab, a usable wet room head/sea toilet and a mid cabin double, which was a squeeze but snug and useable. Again, only a foot longer, but way more boat (older and far cheaper)…… and the earlier Falcon 22 was, as it suggests a 22 foot without the bathing platform and transom door. Our 23SPC also had a rudimentary galley, hob, grill and sink with calorifier and Erberspacher diesel heating………. These Falcons were built in Wroxham Norfolk and many still remain…… never regretted ours 🙂🇬🇧

Take it from a boat builder, Your first boat and your last boat will be similar in size. It's the bit in-between that goes all wrong 😂 And btw that's not a myth. The amount of guys I know that went from say a 19ft cuddy fishing boat all the way up to huge things, got bored of not being able to take them anywhere so eventually sold up and ended up happy as Larry with a 20 odd footer. A lot of people give up boating when the larger boats annoy them, which they enevitably will do. They just totally give up rather than downscale to where it was enjoyable for them. I could have any sized boat I liked and I only have a 26footer. Not interested in junk boats that cost millions, they are still junk just you're paying more for it. There's only two companies boats I would buy with my own money now. They all cheapened them out as far as build quality and materials are concerned. There's a company that Nick has recently done a vid about and I'm forever fixing the delamination on them, huge things costing millions and the owners are scared to use them now so they shift hands like nobody's business. Older boats refurbished is how everyone should be going until they start making them right again.

@@richd1047 No probs. insurance (guernsey) was around £250 for the year (no boating experience, other than local pilotage course) Fuel, when it was 120p ish per litre, I was probably spending maybe £120 a month during the season, and I used it ALOT!
