Great vid. Just goes to show you don't have to be a millionaire to be a boater. The yearly costs of running a boat, you'll never get back financially, but the memories are priceless, especially with a family. This guy probably spends, weekly, about £40 all in to run this boat for him and family to have some real bonding time together. As he said, two weeks in Spain for the same money for his family, or all year round happy days out together. Absolute no brainer. A BIG THUMBS UP FROM ME.

It makes a nice change to look at this end of the market and perhaps you can do a few more like this with boats that cost even less including the pitfalls of buying a pig in a poke. My only experience in boating was way back at the beginning of the 1960's A chap I worked for owned a small albatross. He didn't use it but I would go out in the boat with his son who was the same age as myself, we were both teenagers. The boat was light enough to manually launch and recover it manually off the beach at Blackpool's north shore. Like many other sports I'd love to have a go but now in my mid 70's it's physically impossible but keep these video's coming I just love them.

This is GREAT! We too have a late 90's boat that we have had from new. It's a 23' Crownline and we love it and have taken meticulous care of her. We are on a small lake in the north Georgia mountains. It's nice to see a similar boat on your channel. We wouldn't trade her for ZOZO. Well...maybe. Thanks Nick and keep up the great work!

Possibly the most valuable video on the whole aquaholic channel as this shows the reality of how inexpensive boating can be. So many people see boating as a sunseeker, but most of us started our experience of boating on boats like this. The sound of the inboard bubbling, the quicksilver throttle, all bought back memories of me starting my experience of boating with my parents on a boat exactly this size. Also loving.how meet the owner includes a boat trip and do you know what…I’d rather see a video of cracking small boat, owner and spin, than a snooty couple on a boat 4 times the size who don’t use the boat much and just want to give it the big one 🙂 great work guys

There's a lot of boat snobbery out there so it's nice to see a family just having a great time out on the water for a sensible budget. My old boss tried to impress my wife once with his 55' yacht and he considered my 17' pocket cruiser a bit of a laugh. She looked him in the eye and said " if your boat was sinking I bet you would love to come of ours", to which he couldn't argue. What's really nice is to see in this video is everyone's wearing life jackets, so many don't.

What a plonker of a man? You were his junior at work. He earned no doubt much more than you, and had earned for longer. Instead of encouraging you into the fun of boating he mocked your smaller, different purpose boat?

Fantastic feature Nick. Would be good to include what upgrades owners have done or are planning to get. Gives us all ideas to plan for our own boating. It seems to me, boating is going to get more popular, and people are holding on to their boats for longer, or upgrading. Currently looking at a gas BBQ for mine as I have gas onboard, which I think will 'add' to the experience. The floating pontoon for swimming, great idea and doesn't take up a lot of space! Note to self - must get one!!!🤣 Pete has swapped the life of one big summer holiday for many many short holidays a year! Combine this with the ability to trail it and add that to holiday on the French coast or east into the European waterways......worlds your oyster! Fantastic And as one commentator said below - a pod of dolphins at sunrise- Pete couldn't buy that experience for his family - but guaranteed - none of the family will ever forget it. What we all love about boating - an adventure every time with untold unexpected memories to be discovered.

Great to see this meet the owner. I was only thinking yesterday that It would be great to see a meet the owner on a similar boat to ours (ours being an 18ft 2002 larson bowrider) we brought it for 10k last year and keep it on the trailer on our drive in Oxfordshire and gets used between the themes and south coast. Servicing, insurance, river licence and other general maintenance bits costs us no more than a £1000 a year. Having just completed my PB2 in poole last week we are really looking forward to having our first full session this year. Our first costal adventure will be from poole in April at rockley park and weather allowing will be going up the coast and over to the Isles of white for some exploring. Also looking foward to using my Savvy Navvy subscription on the tablet. 👍
