I used to fly Flybe a lot before I retired. Their Dash 8s were great out of Bristol, Belfast, and all sorts of useful regional airports. Great little airline. Lovely to see the name back.

Yes, I remember they used to have a lot of flights connecting Glasgow to Southampton, Exeter, Bournemouth, Cardiff, London Southend, East Midland, etc. The fares were quite affordable if you booked well in advance. Now, some destinations were too expensive to fly on existing airlines serving the routes. I really hope Flybe could be successful this time, launching more regional routes from Glasgow. Thanks for watching again.

@@xijiayu I just hope they stay more punctual because the old flybe was always late, at least in my experience

I flew Flybe back in 2017 and really liked them. Glad they are back in the air again and love the purple livery. Thanks for sharing the flight report from a fellow flight video maker.

I had a brilliant experience flying from Birmingham to Brest-Bretagne about a month ago. A complimentary biscuit and drink and there were only 20 people on the plane and on the way the weather was beautiful, and the views were exceptional. Because propeller planes fly lower than jets, I find you get a better view of the ground. Because I have family in France, I took Flybe between Southampton and Brest pre covid almost every year and the old flybe was always late, the 4 return flights I took between 2015 and 2019 were all late, every single time, so I hope new flybe doesn't become like old flybe in that regard. You could tell in the old company's twighlight years that they were in decline. The route between Southampton and Brest in the early and mid 2010s was well served with 4 flights a week between April and October, with a 5th between May and September, but it over time diminished to just one a week from the first Saturday in July to the first Saturday in September and was it. Brest airport has only one gate for flights outside of schengen (the main route is to Paris run by Air France and Transavia but there are flights from Volotea, Transavia and easyJet to other places like Lyon, Marseille, the French Riviera and Corsica, but also to Porto and Mallorca) and they only use it less than a dozen times a year now for the 8-10 flybe flights from Birmingham and back (Southampton is significantly closer to Bath, but the road to Birmingham is faster so it only takes a bit longer to get to Birmingham but this year there were no flights to Southampton, but who knows for next year?). My flight was about £60-75 each way, not exactly cheap but not so bad I guess, I first looked in April and it was £125 each way but by the end of June, when I booked, it had gone right down. I think they did this because they weren't selling seats because they were charging far too much and I wonder if they started selling last minute tickets really cheaply, but I didn't actually look

Thanks for the information and I hope Flybe could survive with competitive fares and on time performance. More competition means more choice, which is good for customers

Fantastic. Sounds like Flybe is a better option than the sleezy Jet, at least no cancellation Lol
@xijiayu2 жыл бұрын
Yes, Flybe is another option for flying to Belfast, in addition to easyJet and Aer Lingus Regional. I hope they will sort out the delay issue.

Hopefully it stays that way, I took flybe last month and it did, but the old flybe was always late

@@xijiayu wow, I'd think people would be a bit wary of taking a new airline, when I took flybe there were only 20 people out of 78 on board, and the route to Brest was usually quite full on the old flybe
