The first video where I actually enjoyed the sound of Sabian cymbals. And it is Artisan series only. But Bosphorus Special 3sw sounds simply phenomenal!

There are many others that do same. But regardless, there is so much he doesnt mention that skews the results, one being so many of them here have been modified with rivets, which they dont come stock with, and he didnt say that, but you can see them on many of them. Another is what mic and preamp were used, and what placement, as there is an odd transient attack to all these that is missing in real life and from more neutral mics and/or preamps, so that skews things too. Whatever mic and or preamp he used is adding a coloration to them that is not there, or there was post rocessing added. Also NO two cyms are the same sound even if they are same weight. So you see these types of tests are not very reliable, you must do them yourself in real life unless you dont really care much, but jazz guys and jazz rides are a very personal thing for many players. You will never get same results from anyone elses tests. Also never revealed by any YT tests is how a cymbal FEELS to play (rebound, dynamics, etc) which is very important especially for jazz, to the point that no matter how it "sounds", if the "feel" is not the way you want, it doesnt matter how good it sounds, and you wont like it. So you must do your own tests in real life on the exact cymbal you want. The best tests are by mycymbal memphis drumshop as they are very consistent and you are getting that EXACT cymbal they demo. Any other one will sound different.

The only ones I didn't care for were the 18" Istanbul and that last Bosphorus. Every other one had great qualities that speak with their own voice and complement the music in their own special way. I absolutely loved the first two Zildjian models. The K Custom Dry Complex was exactly what I always thought they should sound like although not all of them are this good. I've heard several that were simply harsh but this particular one really had those characteristics of the vision Bill Stewart had for this model. The 22" K Con Bounce is a much more spread out version of the 20" that I play. That's a really nice ride that would fit any Jazz style. I'd have loved to also hear a K Con Renaissance up against those other two. Those are magnificent in their own right. But again, all of these really are beautiful instruments.

Those 2 are also probably my least favorite. The dry complex sounded pretty harsh at first but it sort of grows on you and now it's super awesome!

Very interesting. It shows how different cymbals can be, even if they’re of similar size and weight. And it’s also interesting how the same cymbal model can vary from one to another. I also use a Sabian Artisan Light, but it weighs almost 300g more! Another thing I love is how different the old Ks are. I don’t care for the first one, but I looove the second one. Very unique sound!
